Lure Prices Getting Silly
That's why there are lots of choices in tackle. Something for everyone. Clearly high end baits aren't your thing. So why make a post about it? Just because its crazy to you to spend the money? Most high end baits are collectors pieces for guys. It's not because they can/cant catch more fish or trophy fish.

Lure Prices Getting Silly
Simple. Don't buy it if it's not for you. High end baits have the audience to keep them going across multiple species of fish. Dont get serious about musky fishing if you're afraid to spend coin on big baits.

St. Croix Mojo Bass Wacky Style
The Avid 6'8 M/xf is an awesome spinning rod for wacky and skipping weightless plastics. If you're willing to fork out the extra cash. I have 5 mojo rods but mainly for moving baits. One of whicjh is the 7' M/F for an all around spinning rod. For sensitivity im looking at the Rage and Avid or higher as the blanks are noticeably more sensitive than Mojos.

7 To 1 Reel
No. You can always slow your retrieve down by turning the handle slower. Its much harder to work a bait fast or burn it on a lower gear ratio. Not to mention it can get exhausting.

Are Largemouth Bass Line Shy?
Im a straight braid guy about 90% of the time and I catch plenty. The times I use a leader are for structure or cover reasons, not because I feel the bass can see the line. I also fish a lot of very clear water. If an A-rig or alike isnt scaring bass off, then a single strand of line isn't going to either.

Made Her An Offer She Couldn't Refuse...
If it makes you feel better it was -20 with the windchill early this morning. At least you're not fishing in a 10" diameter hole! Glad to see someone is catching hawgs some where! Nice fish!

Panfish Limit For Meal?
The red text is key. Cooler water will give you a much better taste. If you have walleye/sauger or yellow perch in your area, I'd start there. For me that's about all I care about eating with occasional catfish. I'm not a huge panfish eater myself. If I do, it prefer them in the ice season and well.........I never ice fish.

Beginner Pike Lures
You could just come to Wisconsin or MN and you'll catch enough in one day to never really want to again. Don't get me wrong, catching fish is fun but when you're specifically targeting bass and you keep getting hammered by 18-24" pike it drives you bananas after a while. Catching big pike is a lot of fun, finding the big girls is a bit trickier. That is unless you're in the upper Saskatchewan fishing pristine lakes that see 2 or 3 fisherman a year. Up there you can catch multiple 40's in a day! A trip I'd like to take some day. Honestly anything you throw for bass is going to catch Pike. Spinnerbaits, Crankbaits, buzzbaits, spooks....you name it, the water wolves will devour it. Hollow belly swimbaits get annihilated by pike too.

What Line Should I Use?
50+ like WW2 suggested if you're casting/flipping/pitching directly into the thickest stuff in the lake. Dense lily pads, matted grass, and thick milfoil or alike would be areas for this. Your boat is not a factor in line choice.

What Would Your Setup Be?
What is your current rod/reel you're using? Once you get into braid as we discussed in your other thread, your sensitivity will sky rocket but the rod plays a big part of it too.

Great Deals
- Where are all the Illinois Guys ?
Apologies, didn't see this until now but I did get your email. Thank you- What Line Should I Use?
Power Pro or 832 Braid in the color you prefer. Low Vis for moving baits, Hi-Vis for bottom contact or stand still plastics if you're a line watcher, if not low-vis will work too. #15 or #20 if you're spinning #30 or #40 if you're using a baitcaster.- New Swimbaits
I got a Mattlures Baby Hardgill, 3:16 Wake Jr, 3:16 FS Green Gizzard (floating), and a couple S-Wavers. I'll probably work with those mostly in the swim bait swing of things. Got a lot of Siebert Jigs to be throwing. Especially looking forward to the Dredge brush jigs and a few swim jigs. For hollowbelly swimbaits I like the SK Shadalicious 4.5" (they're by no means cheap either). When the Pike mangle them up good, I glue them all back together with Mend-it. The second time around I usually will dump them if I can't fix again.- Anybody Get Their Bps Master Catalog?
I feel sorry for the guys who don't have or use internet. They only get to pick colors they see. I agree with most of what has been said, waste of paper. They could have sent a 4x6 post card saying, go to BPS.com. Go to the library if you don't have internet. WE WANT ALL 46 ROBOWORM COLORS DAMNIT!- Super Bowl Or Fishing

...when your shower has a metal soap bar. ...when your xmas tree has more fishing ornaments than anything else. ...when you floss with 20# braid, 65# if you have big gaps. ...when you let your kids play with soft plastics as bath toys. - Where are all the Illinois Guys ?
