im with Ed. I hate extreme heat over cold. My blood runs hot. 65-70 air temperature is perfect for me. The only reason I go out in 90+ is to fish.

Rm I recall you serviced a few already. Did you have trouble with that spring under the cast control knob? I had a heck of a time fitting it back. Nothing like any of my older shimano reels.

I had one and prefer other frogs to it from things mentioned above. Mine also took on more water than I liked.

Garrett, the spool bearings can be done with only taking off the sideplate and cast control knob. Should be enough info on hear to help you through the process. If you've never disassembled a reel id suggest trying it on something of lesser value first. The Ci4 would be a shame if you misplaced something or broke a piece without even fishing it. Take pictures as you go and take your time. It's really not that difficult but lots of small parts and screws can mix you up quickly if you lose concentration.

Tomustang make sure you get it in their good if you do take it out. First time I thought I had it and it wasnt working correctly. Got it right second time around. The internals weren't too bad in terms of grease. Just the bearings were caked so I wanted them clean. I won't open this up again until the end of the season. ...hopefully.

Figured it out. Boy that was more difficult than it should have been. On the plus side, nice clean bearings.

This seems so easy yet extremely difficult. Im having a heck of a time getting the spool tension spring to sit back on top of the bearing as it should. Never have had this issue with any of my reels. Anyone that's serviced a Ci4 experience the same issue? I've tried everything to get that thing back in. Any advice is much appreciated.

The Cabelas fishing department by me gets worse every year. I refrain from buying there unless it's a deal or I can't make it to BPS. It's still nice to go and look around but I rarely find things I want/need. I hope your guys Cabelas is a little better.

6'6 to 7' MH/F rod would be your best versatile rod to do it all. Brand would be up to you and your budget. There are a lot of solid rods in the $100 range.

Pretty much any digital camera has recording function available, as well as every smartphone. I have a GoPro, and haven't felt it's difficult to navigate but that is neither here or there. I believe Kodak makes an affordable action camera called the Playsport. That might be more what you're looking for.

While I agree with you 100%, there are a lot of guys out there that want a new boat every couple years. I have a couple people I know from work relations that are like that. Mostly guys with more money than they know what to do with. Instead of upgrading the boat....they trade the whole thing in for a new package because they don't bother with researching and well......saving money.

a bunch of them are BPS exclusive only. As well as color offerings I believe. I may stand corrected on the color thing.
