  1. I had it for Intellevision. Kool-Aid Man and Burger Time were also awesome. I played a lot of BF3 on PS3 and then I had kids.........
  2. More or less its what you implied. If it wasn't, you'd made no mention of it. And by new...I meant to this site. Best of luck making friends after this kind of a start. I'm 31 and taken. Sorry I'm not available to you. Teal, are you coming to the Dobyns bandwagon party? We're having bonfires made of Powell Rods and Senkos for snacks.
  3. You could have stopped here and not let this tarnish your beginning here with your 13 active posts. Newbies with foul opinions are never appreciated. No one is judging your gear and no one else wants your opinion of how theirs is inferior in "your" mind.
  4. that day was almost today. Lol.
  5. that tickled you slightly didn't it DX Darryl?
  6. Apparently if thats mentioned the thread gets tossed...Teal enjoy that setup. Its going to be awesome!
  7. Thats a heck of a collection my man. Way to go! Thanks for sharing. Being a northerner, no doubles for me. Looking forward to seeing some more by others.
  8. I own more bluegill and black skirted spinners than white/chart ones. I just don't throw them as often because the pike destroy them. I will normally throw them in the shallows and around docks as mentioned for bass. Out in the open around weed flats is typically where the water wolves start to claim them from me so I don't throw them out there too much.
  9. That is fantastic. Burglars beware.
  10. You just answered yourself my man. If you're pitching/flipping go straight braid with low vis, or if you use Hi-Vis color in the braid like I said. I'm switching to hi-vis to see better line bouncing. You don't want to be using a leader when your flipping in slop, no point really. I fish the same kind of waters as you. I only suggested a leader if you're out in the open t-riggin or dead sticking a worm where the bass half a half hour to decided if they want to eat. Really the only reason I ever use a leader is if I'm by rock or wood, not for visibility.
  11. That product is completely unnecessary in my opinion and sounds more like a marketing ploy. Regular Power Pro of any color choices is completely fine and strong enough to hold any fish in freshwater. Tying good knots is the key to braid strength. I use a palomar on everything except flipping I snell my hooks. You'll never break the line mid section unless it's on an abrasive surface like rocks/wood or you knicked it in the course of fishing. Sufix 832 braid is my favorite and I use both brands I've mentioned. If you're really intimidated by color, just tie a fluoro leader on. Color is about confidence and human visual aid. If bass seeing lines/wires was an issue, why are A-rigs and big spinner baits so productive?
  12. You'll be fine. You can always color the first 3 feet of your line to lure with black magic marker. Or green for that matter.
  13. Who the hell thinks of this stuff... I hope they come out with a sequel.
  14. I hope this doesn't become the case with mine. I'll be going on my 3rd season with mine and its still like new. Any idea of why they've come to that state?
  15. I do the same. Usually when you google a number you'll find a forum of people reporting the same number. If you don't take that as a warning, you deserve to be scammed for being a moron.
  16. Smoke SL100HPT. I use it for pitching/punching because it has a stock ceramic drag and it's extremely light. I love it to be honest, great little reel. If you look on ebay, you can find these reels for next to nothing. Perhaps I got a gem, but I've never had any issues with mine. Some people just frown on Quantum but I have yet to experience any bad with mine. I also have a lower end KVD reel that has been a good reel. No complaints and I use it for lipless, squarebills, things like that. It's smooth and casts really nice. Plastic parts worry me though so I don't expect the reel to be a "lifetime" investment. I treat my stuff really well so after 2.5 seasons with it, it's in 9/10 shape both mechanically and cosmetically. I have never tried any EXO's but feedback says they're solid. The rest of my reels are all Shimano.
  17. Thanks for finding that Branden. I think the action on the Savage isn't all that bad to be honest. I like the more erratic movements. It's not as fluid as a Jointed Claw but for a 3rd of the cost, I could live with that. What I didn't particularly like was the sink rate but perhaps its good to know and use that in a situation you want the bait down a little quicker. I think any 3 of these baits are worth while to have. I only have 2 S-Wavers, so I'll probably try a Savage next. If I can get a deal on a JC, i'd certainly entertain it but paying MSRP just isn't happening for me right now.
  18. Ive used a couple Triumphs and still have a 7' M in my line up. Its not a bad rod at all for the money. Good all purpose budget rod. Ive had it for almost 9 years i think. Whatever rod you choose I think you'll be happy. St. Croix makes a great rod in all line ups they offer. Their customer service is top notch so never worry about that. Buy with confidence.
  19. A couple factors people are ignoring are that Premiers only go up to 7' on the bass casting rods. They also don't make any XF actions on the Premiers. Same blanks and parts for the most part, just assembled in different parts of the world. As stated, Cabelas has a selection of Premiers with split grips but the choices are slim. Premiers are great for all purpose rods. Mojo series allows for more of a dialed in technique specific selection. Both are fantastic rods for the money. I suggest looking at St Croix's site and looking at the differences in selections.
  20. Welcome to BR. Another IL resident, Streamwood as well.
  21. I saw it there too. Pretty good? I actually almost went with tgat instead.
  22. Mattlures Hardgill, Got em Coach Gill, or a Spro Bbz1 6".
  23. I had some on sipping stones. Good flavor and pretty smooth going down. Im no expert by any means but I enjoyed it and would definitely buy again. Im going to try Jeffs suggestion of Laphoriagh next time. Was that link supposed to be a review for it? It just landed on that homepage.
  24. Im about to give Monkey Shoulder scotch a try here in a bit. Has anyone dabbled or even heard of it? Figured id try something off the wall and give my review. It's at the $30-40 price point so unsure what to expect from it. Itll be a mixer if it taste like poops.
  25. No one is upset but you clearly don't know what goes into making the high end lures. You really had no point to the post other than to point out the price tags. Those are mid range prices for higher end lures anyway. Like jrob pointed out, the craftsmanship, paint, and components are what keep the prices high and well in demand. Youre right, it's not for everyone and many do agree. There are many that understand it and want them in their collections.
