the suspension is somewhat in line with others really. Don't PED users get a 4 game ban on the first offense so to me this is the same type of thing, trying to cheat to gain an advantage.

Well here it is, my last day of classes for my Masters. I submitted my last assignment yesterday and since i already have a 95% i think i am ok as far as my grades go. I think my final GPA will be around 3.65 or something. It is pretty crazy at how fast it went by even though it was not easy it was obviously manageable because i did it. I began my third week of my long term sub position this week and it is going ok. We are starting the standardized testing this week so it has been a lot of review and these kids are pretty crazy compared to my student teaching class but i kind of expected it when i observed the class for a few days prior to taking over. Anyways, all i can say is if anyone is wanting to do a career change or is debating on making a move to better yourself or your career or whatever, just go for it. It won't be easy but in the end it will be worth it.

If i had a place that had high of enough concentration of them I would most definitely target them. I love catching them and they are a blast and I am still itching to get one on my fly rod.

I will agree with everyone else in that the only time to replace braid is when it gets too short. I haven't had it wear out yet.

do you fish often with a slack line? i know i try not to have a slack line, especially when the bait is paused. and even if it is slack, unless it is a ton of slack, i.e. it wouldn't matter because you couldn't set the hook anyways, i have found that the sensitivity of braid is easily viewed and felt as there is virtually no stretch to take up as they take the bait.

Or depending on the unit, you can mount it thru hull....that is how i do mine with plumbers putty and it works great with no discernible differences from when i had it on a transducer arm and way less to do when getting ready or launching the yak.

Don't feel bad, it happens. If it is that concerning you should probably pick up a different sport because no matter how good we al are at our catch and release and taking care of the fish, some will bite the dust. I don't like it all but I do my best to minimize it from happening.

I agree and I heard on Mike & Mike this morning that the Colts emailed the league a day or two before the game under the suspicion that this might be happening and they still did nothing. That is what concerns me. And don't think for a minute that if the Patriots lost the Super Bowl that this wouldn't have come out immediately after but instead, they wait till after the draft so any repercussions are for next season's draft. Although, I have heard, again on various sports radio, that there is talk of a lengthy suspension for Brady. Of course, that would just give him more time to review the walkthroughs of all the teams on the remainder of the schedule (that one is for you A-Jay)

it's not the issue of the colts game it is the issue of it being suspected the previous game and the colts game earlier in the season, both of which were much closer. It also goes to show that they cheat, plain and simple and nothing will stop them from trying to cheat and since the league doesn't really care, they will keep taking their slaps on the wrist and move forward....sad really that a guy like belicheat has zero integrity for the sport.

Darren pretty much nailed it. The only thing i will add is to look around for local places and see if they have demo days as then you will be able to try out a ton of boats from many different manufacturers. Most times they will have some good deals on boats too. I have a commander and stand all the time and also never even use the actual seat, unless i know i will be paddling a long distance, 5+ miles, i am always in the captain's perch. the raised seat allows you to use walk the dog type baits with ease and i have never had an issue setting the hook on any type of technique. The only time you probably really want to stand is when pitching or flipping as it is a little easier. All in all, I love my kayak and have been very pleased. Just make sure when you are thinking about budget you include a PFD and a paddle into the mixx as that will add additional cost other than the boat itself.

I had this set up for a while too but i eventually went with a thru hull. Basically on my Commander it seemed like the shape of the stern directed any sticks or other items to the transducer and it ended up getting knocked around too much for my liking. I did have a pretty weak spring on there though so maybe with a stronger spring i wouldn't have as many issues. I may give it a whirl again though once i get a new SI unit as that transducer has to be in the water to work properly.

I don't retire any lure. The only one I wish i did keep was the first fly i tied that i caught a fish on but it is in a bush somewhere in the Shenandoah national park due to my poor casting skills at the time. Other than that, I have memories and pictures and that is all I need. Now if i caught a state record bass or something i might retire it but at the same time, there is a good chance that it wouldn't even be hard bait anyways and not sure retiring a worm or a fluke really matters.

so what maintenance should be done on a boat that is sitting unused for 3 years? I get the protecting the paint but as far as the other things, what really could have been done to prevent them from breaking down?
