  1. As long as it is as good of quality and comparable price I would get USA made stuff but we also have to realize we are in a global economy and the days of Made in the USA is really gone the way of the dinosaurs. To be competitive you need to balance all the aspects of manufacturing to be successful.
  2. if the book isn't right you are probably in the wrong chapter I do love when it all comes tougher like that though. I had a trip where the lake was up probably 6' and all the fish were up tight to shore in the newly flooded areas. I had a great numbers and size day.
  3. Just a little sunny imitation that i think will do well on the local smallmouth rivers. Keel weighted to ride hook up and and stay more weedless.
  4. if the shoe fits.....
  5. not sure on the semi one but the current 4 door wrangler is 3500lbs with the 2 door being 2500 I think. The hemi option isn't slated for production or anything yet they just "leaked" it more or less via concept car https://www.thedrive.com/news/34779/jeep-wrangler-rubicon-392-concept-shows-off-450-hp-hemi-v8-on-broncos-big-day
  6. Looks like a wrangler and and Toyota FJ cruiser had an illegitimate baby. Nobody is going to top wrangler sales but everyone wants a piece of the pie. it isn't a coincidence that jeep released the wrangler with a Hemi possibility on the same day....
  7. i usually use rivets for mounting with some waterproof silicone and haven't had any issues. Only downside is removal isn't as easy as the well nuts but I am ok with that trade off.
  8. Seems like it was just fine if he caught a couple and you caught 3. He was probably thinking why doesn't this guy just get a kayak so he isn't hurting the riverbed and overfishing one area.
  9. If it is tendinitis all the wraps and changing of motion in the world won't fix your current issue. Tendinitis is an overuse injury, I saw it a ton when I was climbing a lot, and the only way to get better is to let it heal then ease back into it slowly. Then is when you will want to adjust casting stroke etc....
  10. torqueedo outboard would be the way to go if it is in the budget. They are pretty awesome. There is a guy local who has a 18+ foot modified V jon boat and his torqueedo outboard gets his boat on plane and he is able to cruise the electric only lakes with ease.
  11. Trying my hand at some feather game changers. They are getting better but still trying to find that sweet spot on the proportions.
  12. Not many players are worthy of that type of money, i can only think of a handful that early in their career i would have considered a 10 year deal, but he is one of them/ Eliminates all types of distractions. Now we get to see how Jerrry handles the Day contract situation....any ground they had in negotiations just got shot to hell
  13. A couple more flies that will hopefully get me some big brown bass this weekend....
  14. Drinking all that during the trip isn't going to help the hydration level as much as if you stay hydrated all the time. Hydrating the days before is what really counts. Yo will just be maintaining really if you drink a lot while fishing. I fish from a kayak in the heat so i am not only in the heat i am working in the heat. Some people can take it better than others but it is something that you can build up your tolerance to as well. Like @Catt said, if i can work in it, i can fish in it easily.
  15. People swear by the DIY ones but every one i have seen either doesn't float, or it does float with some bulky float added to it or it is way too flexible. I fish out of a kayak and use the YakAttack 8'park-n-pole. It is probably the best accessory I have purchased for my kayak
  16. I own them both and for your intended purpose the 733 will be the better rod. the 734 is also a nice rod but i don't like it for texas rigs unless they are in the weight being 3/8 oz range
  17. Had no idea what I was going to tie last night but this is what i ended up tying. Articulated with an 1.5" shank in the back.
  18. Man, I am sorry to hear about your medical stuff but hopefully it will get taken care of and you can get back to it pretty quick. I just started using the UV curing stuff and I should have done it sooner...that stuff is pretty amazing and a major time saver. I will send you a PM with my address and if you send me yours, I will send a few flies your way as well.
  19. Those frogs are awesome!!! I need to tie some Of those frogs and the baitfish looks good what UV flex do you use and what are those frog hooks?
  20. they have them already. As far as bass fishing with the fly rod, it is a lot of fun and you can do whatever you want really as far as flies go. I like tying streamers and using them so that is what I use along with topwater of various types. You can't be as efficient as conventional tackle but that is ok to me as fly fishing is a lot more fun when not catching for sure.
  21. Hit a local river/swampy area that was way high. Up probably two feet from "normal" and lots of CFS plus silt. I figured i wouldn't catch much but I ended up catching a couple bass and a few sunnies. This guy was fat as can be which might explain why he went after a game changer that was almost half as long as he was.
  22. Other than getting the right jack the only thing you can do is get it as high as you can and hold it thereon a block or something and then just go down the trailer tongue and start lifting from as far away fro meh tongue as you can and you should be able to lift it high enough pretty quickly to flip the fulton jack down. Personally though i say go get a jack that will lift it the right height....safest option and you can always use a jack for something
  23. 20lb carp on a 4wt fly rod with 4x tippet which is around 4lb test
  24. I think if i tie another one i will thin it up some and extend the back hook more. I just hooked the eye through the fish shank rather than using wire like i usually do. but it did look pretty cool in the water
