  1. Head is laser dubbing and the tail is a kreelex craw turned sideways. You can't tell but these are both articulated with one joint. I turned the wire sideways so the craw tail would face the proper direction. Didn't give a ton of action but i think that is because it was just one joint. The laser dubbing is awesome stuff, i never used it before but i saw it when i was researching some patterns, belly bumper in particular. I am gonna see how they do on some game changers i am gonna tie tomorrow. Went out today and threw a white game changer but i am thinking i need some different colors.
  2. Seat stability ease of paddling maneuverability features YOU want i wanted an electronics pod because I hate transducer arms location for flush mount rod holders tracks for other add ons like fly rod holders manageable weight made in the US I have an ATAK 140 and of the many kayaks I’ve owned, this is by far my favorite. that pretty much sums it up for me.
  3. Just a couple more flies
  4. Teaching my kids tying flies jumping on trampoline with aforementioned kids fishing yard work organizing gear whatever else tickles my fancy really.....
  5. I fish out of a kayak and I fish at night pretty often. I don't limit myself to certain baits because of treble hooks or not having treble hooks. I do keep my cockpit area more clear though at night, normally i lay a rod or two at my feet to facilitate ease of grabbing. I also use my fish grips to land fish if i see the treble hooked bait could be an issue when landing.
  6. I was thinking of heading there this weekend myself.....
  7. Briery creek or Sandy? And yes, they do work and trigger some big and small fish. Fish them the same way you would the smaller version but you will need some stout tackle and heavier line as they are pretty heavy baits, especially with the hook size you need to get through all that plastic.
  8. Insert is the same as a swipe though. Banks are pretty good about detecting fraudulent activity and with mobile banking and alerts make it very easy to detect when something is awry on your account.
  9. Enjoy. Wise move taking the kayak out with nothing the first time to get a feel for it. I would even say get a feel for it to the point of trying to flip it and see how it does and how you do. Might want to wait till the water warms up a little though because i would bet you guys are in the 50 degree water range at this point.
  10. i use my air fryer a bunch for chicken and i do use breading but it is different than normal. I usually just brush it with olive oil and then bread crumbs or whatever, crushed cheezits work really well actually as a breading. I have learned the key is to flip it about every 4 minutes so you can get a good crunchy coating.
  11. I have yet to do fish in my air fryer but the salmon intrigued me. Mind sharing how you prepare it?
  12. don't do anything crazy with it but i don't think it has ever been cleaned other than swimming in it so i am sure it is pretty funky. I rarely wear that one though since i went to a self inflating one.
  13. if anything can live on my PFD then it deserves to live out its entire life....
  14. too bad the two lakes i went to this weekend were way up and muddy as hell from recent rains so i couldn't do any sight fishing....oh well. i will try again soon hopefully.
  15. if anyone goes to that level to "trick" the wife then they should probably spend that money on either a divorce lawyer or counseling
  16. What is gonna be real funny is when the real ones come tomorrow and she goes out and stomps them all or breaks them because of your "prank"....now that will be hilarious.
  17. I have one and am trying to figure out what i can sell to get some more
  18. You will lose more ned rigs than you will treble baits in my experience. Then of course you have all the different head types and bait styles etc..so you're premise of it being a $2 bait is way off.
  19. or it could be that their sales weren't high enough to offset the cost of manufacturing their products in China.
  20. I worked at sears for a while and also did construction and for my dad's electrical contractor business and while i worked at Sears i saw stuff come back all the time. Not so much wrenches but a lot of stripped out ratchet heads, broken screw drivers etc...I was able to buy a pair of the craftsman tin snips and they had the same warranty even after they transitioned to being sears branded as long as you keep the receipt. Anyways, craftsman tolerances are not great in my experience but again, you don't care because it is the warranty. Craftsman is fine for light use, i use it myself now for some things but if i made a living with my tools, i wouldn't be getting them.
  21. Being made in china doesn't mean bad quality. Also Craftsman is and always has been junk. Only thing that made them worthwhile was the replacement policy/warranty.
  22. I was a St Croix guy for a while and then started branching out to other brands a few years ago. I bought a bunch of dobyns rods last year and I really like them. Are they better or worse than the St. croix rods in the same price range, not sure but they are both good rods for the money. I have St croix rage, avid and mojo rods and Dobyns Fury series.
  23. WOW!!! I just did a search on Tatula and i saw clicking issues, grooving, drag issues etc...
  24. Got some new materials and trying some keel weighted flies....
  25. I don't think it means we are a throw away society rather but people aren't learning basic maintenance and mechanical abilities at home. My dad was an electrician and i worked construction in the summers so i learned a lot. I also learned how to fix things out of necessity as a college kid and I still fix most things to this day, cars and the computers are getting problematic though. Kids do need to learn how to fix things and tinker with and build things.
