  1. Here is a color chart: http://www.***.com/descpageSWIMRIVER-R2SLBW.html The trout colors look awesome. I am very wary of this type of bait though because Storm burned me with their similar pre-rigged junk... Might have to try these...
  2. How much is a permit to fish Quantico??
  3. I was in south Jersey last week, and we took to boat out and caught 4 crabs. 4. I would have killed for 1 dozen, let alone 18!!! Good Haul!
  4. Road Kill is a great color. It's like a watermelon/pumpkin with some gold dust in it.
  5. Berkley too. Gulp is biodegradable.
  6. To gain some confidence in cranks, buy 4 bandit 100's ($17-18 for all of them...), and bring them to a pond or lake at dusk and use nothing but them. Throw like you would a spinner bait, close to weed lines, muck lines, rocks, timber, etc. From there, you will know what different structure contact feels like, what a strike feels like, and so on, and you can then work your way up the crankbait ladder to eventually buy some Megabass Cyclones, Zoom WECs, and discontinued Bagley Bs... Anyhow...Starting with a Bandit makes sense since it is cheap so it's ok to lose a few. It produces fish for me like crazy. I have turned several of my worm-only friends into crankers slowly but surely by letting them use my bandits, then experimenting from there...
  7. Welcome aboard. I just 'outfitted' my brother in law with a bunch of stuff. Here is what I told him: Pick up some Yamamoto Senkos, Sweet Beavers, Zoom Horny Toads and Terminator Spinnerbaits to start out with for lures. Pick natural colors... Stay away from any lure sold on TV. You can get some great rod/reel combos at Bass Pro Shops. Pick what feels comfortable with you. BPS has a good return policy, if you get out o the water and hate the rod/reel you picked out, you can return/exchange it. Cajun Red cast is a great serviceable line...
  8. Pull 'em apart. I think they are attached so they keep their shape in the package or something... More action with them separated though... Big O will tell you for sure...
  9. Daiwa lures generally have very weak hooks. I bought a bunch of Shad Masters last week, and changed em out. Some of their lures come with the vanadium/nickel hooks, but most come with what is only a little stronger than tin foil...
  10. This thread: FAIL
  11. I live in NOVA, and in the field, I've have only seen a game warden 4 times in my entire life. I see them driving and at the courthouse frequently... I've had my fishing license checked more by cops than by a game warden.
  12. From King of the Hill: Bobby: "Dad, I failed English." Hank Hill: "You failed English? Bobby, you speak English." Point is 99% of us on here have spoken/written English since we were about 1 year old... I see a lot of people on here making a virtue of or glorifying in their ignorance and/or laziness - It is Sad. I applaud Mike for what he is trying. It is not snobby or elite. We all have a zeal for Bass Fishing, we all go just about 110% when it comes to catching bass, learning about bass related topics, lures, rod length, flexibility, speed, etc etc. Why not put the same effort (or even a fraction of that effort) into forming a cohesive sentence/paragraph so that other people with the same drive to catch the best fish ever can understand you and take you seriously?
  13. Supposedly very good, the locals love them: http://www.foodreference.com/html/fcoconutcrab.html Bravo!
  14. He most definitely could have said it better...
  15. Write! Grammar and book learnin' has know place hear! They should take there language rulez and reed sum book somewheres else. LMAO!
  16. Add a paddle tail on them and sell them as a Hollow Bodied Senko Paddle Tail.
  17. I have recently converted to throwing a Sweet Beaver, weightless with a 4/0 straight worm hook. Two trips to a lake that usually gives me 1 or 2 on a good day, and I landed 16 bass on the beaver. Lost a ton too on the first day...
  18. LOL!!! I love that list, Zel, and I'm emailing it around to my coworkers, who violate every one of those rules on a daily basis... Mike, I agree 100% ! A big problem is that you can point this stuff out over and over, and the repeat offenders blissfully press on, thinking you are talking about somebody else... My particular pet peeve is the misuse of homophones - hear/here, their/there/they're, and your/you're.
  19. Posted this in GD too...There are a lot of deep rock outcropings out there that hold a lot of fish. A few years ago during a dry spell, the water levels fell a ton, and you got to see the bottom. A lot of featureless sandy/mud bottom... There are a few creekbeds in there, and rock piles, and they hold tons of fish. I used to fish this when I was a kid in the 80s and this place was great...The action there sucked thru the 90s for me. The last time I went there the water was so low that you could walk out hundreds of feet.
  20. Good luck! Wednesdays and Thursdays are the best days on that lake for me... Fish have finally stopped being shy from the 10,000 anglers on the water over the previous weekend.
  21. If you're talking about the reservoir in NoVa, then don't worry, that is a tough spot to get a fish. There are a lot of deep rock outcropings out there that hold a lot of fish. A few years ago during a dry spell, the water levels fell a ton, and you got to see the bottom. A lot of featureless sandy/mud bottom... There are a few creekbeds in there, and rock piles, and they hold tons of fish.
  22. Out of the two, I pick Zooms... More subtle, and they have that crazy 'glide' when you stop reeling. I prefer to use the Gambler Cane Toad or the Sizmic Toad over both, though.
  23. Thanks all - it was the hook I think. Switched to 4/0 straight worm hook, nailed 5 out of 5 today on the beaver. My daughter got 3 on one as well...
