  1. Is it a WEC E1?
  2. If you sight fish, and don't care about catching a nesting fish, then the shaky head is the way to go.
  3. If they split, do you just use the Devcon Epoxy to reseal them, or just let it be?
  4. It is probably a group of stupid teens. Some teens, especially when they get together in large groups, have a huge capacity for doing stupid, mean, or even evil things - just because they are bored and have no respect for nature (or no respect for anything else). I would suspect BB guns for the birds, and maybe even for a lot of the fish. Now, these are probably troubled teens, and not representative of all teens, but I see it a lot where I am and I'm in a rural area. I can only assume it is worse where you are - southern FL, more urban?

  7. I just bought what might be the prettiest wooden cranks I've ever held - by Catching Concepts. You have to check this guy's baits out, he has an Ebay Store and has a bunch of sizes and colors. Each bait is signed. They remind me of the Lohr's crankbaits, only they are painted so much better. The hooks are the VMC Outbarb 'Barbarian' hooks, sharp as anything I've felt, they look a lot like the Megabass hooks... Anyway, the baits are awesome. I can't wait to get one wet. Here's his store: http://stores.ebay.com/Catching-Concepts Here are the baits I got: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=310020580481&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT&ih=021 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=310025496094&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT&ih=021
  8. I just use the good old bullfrog pattern. There is a brown one with darker brown dots that is really good too. Steve F, where did you find them?
  9. I have two, and they work pretty good. I fish it a couple of ways. Like a stickbait like a Bang-O lure. If I'm fishing stickbaits that particular day, then this is my go to lure, very realistic looking, something the fish haven't seen a million times, and with great hook. The 2nd way I fish it is like a wake bait, reeled slowly just under the surface. I usually use a Bagley Bulgin B as a wake bait, but will throw this second to change it up or if they get sick of seeing the bulgin b. Lastly I fish it with a walk the dog motion. It is ok, but not the best lure for doing that. I prefer a cultiva tango dancer for that. The Anthrax is best in pressured waters, I think because of its unique profile and look. On those days when anything is working, throw a cheaper lure. On the days when the bite is tougher, toss an anthrax... Good luck, hope this helped.
  10. I started using a bait again last year that has sat in my tackle box for about 20 years since I bought it in the late 80s... The Rebel Wee Frog. I have both the small and the larger version, but they always just sat there... I was looking at it, and by God it looks and swims very similar to the Megabass Type X. No sharp glossy Japanese finish, but the frog looked too good to just let it sit there. I began taking it and fishing it side by side with the Type X frog, which is among my favorite lures... That $4 beat up, rust stained Wee Frog outfished the megabass like crazy. Pond bass shred this frog. River smallies liked to smash it too. I have since stocked up by watching ebay, the large size frog is not so easy to come by... The smaller version works too, but catches too many sunfish. I've reoutfitted by baits with some new trebles, and plan to work the heck out of them this summer. I wanted to give everyone that can't justify the $$$ on a megabass a chance to use a very similar lure at a quarter of the cost...
  11. Hi, welcome aboard. I haven't ever seen a Voltage lure. Do you have a link or a pic?
  12. I have ordered megabass lures from japan ebay dealers. Never had a problem. Use paypal, you have more protection if you do happen to get somebody that is underhanded.
  13. I doubt it was a pike, because the thing died when it got cold. A pike shouldn't die in the cold. I highly doubt there is a fresh water celocanth, it would have been discovered by now unless they were in the amazon or some african river... I'm thinking it was a released pet, most likely a snakehead.

http://www.***.com/descpageMANNCRANK-MCES.html# I tend to hate every lure Mann's puts out, but I'll give this one a try. I like that it is supposed to come thru cover like a champ. We'll see though...
  15. I don't see anything wrong with it. A bass will take a mouse in the wild, if the mouse falls in the water. And as to keeping a bass in a tank, I don't care, there are tons of bigger fish kept in the same size tanks, and they don't seem to suffer. If they were suffering, they wouldn't eat, they'd look sickly, and would die quickly...
  16. How cool would it be to catch an osprey!? Would you use braided line for that? It would be a whole new sport.
  17. They look pretty cool.
  18. No new lure?
  19. My father in law bought be 3 of them. I tried them, and they are a pain in the rear. I couldn't get used to them, they didn't catch me any fish, using them does not allow you to feel what's going on at the other end of your line, and I think they are bad for your line. I would not recommend you waste money on them.

That is one interesting looking bait. I guess I'll work a couple of hours of overtime to grab one in every color... $&^%*& you, bait monkey.
  21. A Bandit Footloose is the best I have used, and I've used a ton. It will put a ton of fish on your line. It is small, so you will catch your fair share of dinks. For quality fish, go for the Bagley Bulgin' B2 and Bulgin B3. Both are amazing, though a little fragile. I could have cleaned a farm pond out with a B2 last year. Great baits!
  22. I know the tail is the give away, but I can't remember. I think I may have Alzheimer's...
  23. That was a rough one. What is the action on that bait, Maxdal?
  24. I just finished going thru almost every lure manufacturer on ***, and still haven't figured it out. I give up on this one.
  25. I love them, still fish them, and think they are better than the flukes and other soft plastic jerkbaits. Only problem is they are hard to find.
