  1. I have caught a lot of bass on that lure and still cary one in my top water box. One year I made it a point to fish top waters for at least one hour every outing, no matter what. The Dalton Special was my top producing top water that year.
  2. Giving up the juice.
  3. Randy Howell already has as much weight than he did at Guntersville. He was the anchor of my fantasy team, he held them down.
  4. I sold three of those two years ago for more than i paid for them.
  5. Nobody has mentioned "Old Henry." Maybe not many have watched it. A very good Western with a dirty gritty western look to it.
  6. Theres some really good stuff there. I would never use that many Rapala jerk baits in my life but they may be a staple at Guntersville. Those Krejs , thats a weird looking bait.
  7. Nah, I dont think its what I want. I dont want to order a rod so i'll just keep looking. For the time being I have a 6'6" med and 6'6" med light rods both fast action to use for light cranks. If they mark it down more I may get it.
  8. I havent fished "Motor Oil" in years. It was a top producer.
  9. Oh man, I never know what to say. Sorry about your cherished loss. I think I'll go see my mom now.I see her almost every day.
  10. I'm teetering between those two. I dont know if Kyoya will go after largemouths after filling his limit of cookie cutter spots , so I went with Fisher. I'm usually wrong.
  11. Watching BASS Elite events, I've seen a lot of guys throwing Dredgers but not speaking about them.
  12. Thats about what I was thinking. Unless they mark it down further I'm going to pass.I dont need another rod for bottom bouncing lures.
  13. My dark brown Gitzits do get the scuff trearment. Then I take a chartreuse marker and run it down the entire length of the tube giving it a two tone effect.I believe it gets more bites but it just might be in my head . Not the best picture . The bottom is scuffed up then a green streak is added by the Spike-It marker.
  14. When there were fish markets in the area I ate carp often . There were carp fish fries all the time. Taverns even sold carp sandwhiches. Carp was popular in all the communities along the mississippi river.
  15. After watching the same vid , i tried it a few times but it didnt become a habit.
  16. I dropped Blaylock and Garret then added Cory and Meyer.
  17. The local farm store has a Fenwick rod on clearance for 80 dollars.. Its a Fenwick Eagle , 7'1" medium power, extra fast acton. Lure 1-8th to 3-8th. Line 10 to 14 lb test. Its kind of an odd rod "at least the specs are" and dont know where it would fit in. I've been lookingfor a rod to precisely throw 1/4 oz squarebills , this might be the sweet spot with this rod.
  18. Have any of you ever used a grub as a top water? I use to catch river smallies that way. Buzz it across the top. Strikes were vicious. I used 5 inch Kalins and 5 inch Riversides.
  19. Lake Marti next. These back to back tourneys is where a lot of people fail to play . My picks. Blalock Garrett Walters Anaya Lee
  20. Everytime there is a "how to fish rip rap" thread come up, I recommend a grub and jighead.
  21. I still have a few packs of Kalins grubs. I use to use a color called "Witches Brew" a lot which was a brown chartreuse tail.
  22. The first few fishing trips I will be conservative . I pretty much know where to go and what to throw until the water warms up . Come summer things will change. I plan on fishing a lot of standing timber for big fish and have already been preparing my tackle for it.
  23. I like the old smallmouth bass pattern which they dont make anymore. Brown crawfish is the closest they make currently .
  24. I'll have ot go see if they are on clearance. Might be able to pick one up for ten dollars. I have a lot of Red Eye Shads but need to a couple of those red and yellow ones. The bass are chewin them up.
