  1. Water temp here is still in the 30s. Wind gust today up to 30 mph. Patience.
  2. Details?
  3. 23andMe confirms that I have a lot of Irish blood. I'm 100 percent British isles and western Europe.
  4. Thats one I'm going to have to try. been hearing a lot about it.
  5. Isnt this a Roland Martin rule. He borrowed a jet boat to reach areas that the others couldnt. So now the rule is, you have to use the same boat all year. Theres a good chance I am mistaken.
  6. Big Colorado bladed spinnerbaits.
  7. Perfect
  8. I have 27 of them.
  9. If your looking for a small but castable crank that will dive to 8 foot the Dredger 8.5 fits the bill. The 10.5 will get you a couple of feet deeper. They might be discontinued. Check the Berkely site , they were on sale. Just checked the Berkely site. All they have are some 8.5's for "get this" $3.30.
  10. When I had my last bass boat, we went camping at Mark Twain lake. The first day there was a sustained thirty mph wind with stronger gust . I fished from the wind blown bank that day and caught all kinds of fish. Several different speices including bass ,capped off by a 20 lb flathead. Next day the wind subsided , I took the boat to that same bank and blanked.
  11. Its in Mississippi. There was an open event held here last year. No FFS this time around. Heres what won last year.https://www.bassmaster.com/gear/slideshow/top-lures-at-tombigbee-river-open-2025/1295893 My squad: Cook Logan Chris Johnston Hack Palaniuk
  12. I dont have a boat that handles wind very well. My wife wanted this deck boat , 22 foot Lowe, that blows around like an empty potato chip bag. Being she hardly goes out, I've been trying to talk her into getting something more suitable for fishing. I fish a lot from a one man plastic boat and cant take it out in heavy wind.
  13. Bomber Model A's are some of the least expensive baits . They are one of my favorites. The new Flat A's have a weight transfer system . I havent used one of those but the old ones are good.
  14. I bought a slow speed reel for crankbaits that was unneccesary. It was a waste of money and collects dust in a drawer. Just reel slower.
  15. I'm better at guessing other peoples catches than my own.
  16. Most of The squarebills I use are discontinued.
  17. Whoever byADK is in this group, he is 3rd overall. Keep it up man.
  18. I still like the Original Lunker Lure. white, chartreuse, black or a natural baitfish colored skirt . White probably my most productive over the years. 1/2 oz for castability. Usually I dont use a trailer. Sometimes I'll use a trailer hook, sometimes not.
  19. North missouri here and we are under a tornado watch and blizzard warning at the same time. Thats crazy.
  20. Wesley Gore just landed a four to five lb bass and his spinnerbait broke in half. When that happens to me , I just get the blades back.
  21. I never seen a meanmouth but this fish was the color of a smallmouth , with the makings of a largemouth.
  22. I missed Ebare weighing in. Was that big fish a smallmouth or a meanmouth?
  23. Cooper finally made it to the weigh in.
  24. I had Cooper Gallant and he didnt weigh-in. Thats going to hurt. Had Laker Howell too.
  25. Earlier, Laker Howell landed a three lber too agressively. He boat flipped it on one side and it ejected on the other side.
