  1. I had the same thing happen with my wife only it was just three days. Then she accuses me of not listening.
  2. I watched the first season's of those too.
  3. About 30 years ago I saw a mountain lion while squirrel hunting. I havent told a soul about it because I know nobody would believe me. I spooked it and it ran in the opening into some brush, then stopped and looked back at me.
  4. Watching TV , movies is something I'm really into but have a hard time finding something worth viewing. This new series PLUR1BUS is one that I am fond of. Its not for everyone.
  5. We have all witnessed a color change, or size or action .... make all the difference in the world. I could bore you with a dozen stories where a slight change turned the day around. I have caught a lot of bass with black, black/blue, black chartreuse spinnerbaits.Historically, for me, black seems to draw larger but fewer bites.
  6. I have two old Rattling Thin Fins that cast 0k on baitcasting gear. One of them has a great tight action and the other doesnt do much.
  7. I have two of those and neither one runs true. I tried to tune them to no avail.
  8. Looks like this might be the one. Watched some videos and they mention how great this lure cast.
  9. I didnt know the term shaky head. About twenty years ago I came upon some interesting jigheads with screw-in bait keepers and bought them. Used them on a river with a Trick worm and caught a lot of smallies. I use them occasionally but still rely on a Texas rig for the majority of snagless soft bait presentations.
  10. I dont have many newer baits because I have so many old ones that still work and catch fish . Now that winter is here and fishing is over, I think about how to fish the upcoming season. I plan on targeting more standing timber next year and looking for a great casting smallish squarebill. What are some great casting small baits say 1/4 to 3/8 oz that I will be able to roll cast accurately?
  11. Metal detecting. Finding an old coin or relic is a lot like catching a big bass. Bowling. Ive been an avid bowler for 50 years. This is the first year I havent bowled due to health. They replaced me and my paltry 170 avg with someone carrying a 210. Maybe I'll be able to bowl again next year.
  12. The Bomber Flat A still catches fish. I especially like it in current.
  13. The small lakes I fish have sunken brush-piles that I cant find because I'm in a small plastic boat with elec motor only. The anglers in bass boats know exactly where they are and I watch them parade from one spot to another and they catch fish. I patrol shallow visible cover and feel I know a lot of nuances that they dont know about. I fish the brush-piles I can find but dont spend a lot of time trying to hunt them down. Now two of the ones I found I marked them by tying small strips of yellow cloth on shore-line trees. I thought they were inconspicuous but apparently not because somebody removed them . So I learn more about the lakes everytime out and catch my share.
  14. Ok. I was thinking of a roadrunner type bait. This one ould be a cover eater.
  15. You can fish underspins in heavy cover? Thats impressive.
  16. I recieved my prescription sunglasses from Zenni yesterday. I went with the most expensive lens with infrared blocking technology. I've had torn retina's in both eyes ,so I figure the more protection the more better. I selected amber lens but the infrared blocking gives it a red mirrored finish that I wasnt expecting. They look kind of cool. So I walked through the neighborhood to test them and the polarization seems real good. There were lots of light reflecting puddles and I was able to see right through them. Total cost, 200 dollars.
  17. I have some small crankbaits that are difficult to cast. My 2026 goal is to come up with a baitcaster that I can accurately roll cast. I have a 6'6" med light Shimano Compere rod. I need to come up with a reel and line combination that matches the rod for easy roll casting.
  18. Fishing from bank , I would go with a light rig or split shot. I have some cylinder weights that I have never used.
  19. I have the same story as Dwight . 6 months later I'm cancer free and was enjoying fishing until winter hit. Its a scary situation to be in for sure. Wishing you the best.
  20. I have two Double Deep Wee R's that are Color C Lector colors. A red one and a green one. I never used them and never had a Color C Lector.
  21. Red is not a popular choice for me. I do have a red toned crankbait that kills it at night. In dirty water I have had luck with orange which is close to red. A black jig with bright orange pork frog was my go to lure in chocolate milk.
  22. I fish Carolina rigs with a 3/4 oz weight and cover deep water quickly with it. Slower than a crankbait but faster than a Texas rig or jig.
  23. I expiermented flipping tubes this year. I had some 4 inch thick walled generic tubes that got bit but I missed a lot of fish. They just didnt work well for me. Then I tried the slimmer Zman 4 inch tubes and had a real good hook up rate. They are a little weird to rig and I heard a lot of people dont like them because the stetchiness of them interferes with hooksets. That happens occasionally but i dont get 100 percent hookup with any lure. I use parasite clips to keep it from balling on the hook . One tube will catch a bunch of fish. I caught 25 on the first tube before it was no longer useable.
