  1. I have yet to catch a bass with a bladed jig . I make a few cast , then get around snags and switch to a spinnerbait . Spinnerbaits are the right tool for the job where I fish . Other waters a chatterbait is the right tool .
  2. I got skunked this morning . Made three stops at culverts and didnt catch a bass .
  3. I get skunked all the time . Make a few cast , no bites and leave . As far as no bass at all in a serious outing out of a boat for several hours , thats hasnt happened in years . I dont remember the last time I got skunked . edited: Ok . I think I remember my last skunking . It was out of canoe about 8 years ago on a river I never fished before . Seven miles and nothing . Havent fished that river since .
  4. I've been using 8 inch worms almost exclusively this year , they have been very effective .
  5. There are no summer time lures . Squarebills work in the summer just like spring and fall . Summer time vegetation might make a square bill ineffective , then use lures that navigate vegetation well . Use the right tool for the job .
  6. No , but it goes through wood .
  7. Maybe the dissolved oxygen content is so low the bass are hugging the bottom , rubbing their tails when they move .The ox bows I'm familiar with are pretty shallow .
  8. I had to make a Amazon order for bar b que rub and got 600 bobber stops . Any of you guys need some bobber stops I'll put a hundred in an envelope and send them to you. Message me . 100 will last me forever so I have 500 to give away .
  9. Big Lots had a bunch of that stuff . I still have some . The Top Gun , grubs and the Big Craws . Those Big Craws are big .
  10. I know how much you enjoy fishing , we all do . Too bad you cant come with me and teach me a few things . I have a 22 foot Lowe with two front deck casting chairs . Perfect for us old guys .
  11. Beetle spin , jig and grub twister or paddle tail , marabou jig .
  12. Numbers have been good , 15 inch keepers have been good , lunkers none .
  13. I went yesterday and didnt catch any big ones to warrant a photo but did catch a bunch of fifteen inch keepers , so I'll post a photo of the aftermath instead .When your thumb is bleeding , its been a good day .
  14. Because the nature of the lake has changed I have not used squareblls at all the past few years . I use to throw them a lot in the summer , especially in standing timber . The timber has rotted away and is no longer visible .Still there but under the water line , just out of view .
  15. A trail cam pic I got last week . No video though . My drunken cousins were seen on my camera and it hasnt recorded video since . I think they did something stupid then decided to erase it , pulled the card , erased the image and now its not recording .
  16. Now I need new line on my wormin rod . Hope I can find it .
  17. Does your lake have a rip rap dam ? Thats always a good place to target with cranks .Paralel cast .
  18. Bonus points are a stupid idea . Jamie Hartman had the most points ,345 ,this tourney and he came in 3rd .Feider had 335 and the winner Paulinuik only 305 .
  19. Imagine being the cameraman riding with him .
  20. Buzzbaits . I think the hookup percentage is good with buzzbaits and they go places a Whooper Pooper cant . I am usually fishing in the thickest cover , not open water .
  21. I thought I was all set and in need of nothing . Nope , cant find bobber stops .
  22. I had Pauliniuk . He went from 5th to 1st and I went down in both the standings and percentage ,
  23. Tell me about it .
  24. Watching Brandon Pauliniuk catch these huge smallmouth using his Mega 360 makes me feel like Fred Flintstone with my downscan and marker buoys .
  25. The hardest thing to do in bass fishing is rigging a grub , paddle tail , beetle ... on a lead head jig nice and straight . I dont know how you guys do it . No matter how careful I am and how much time I take , the shaft is rarely running down the middle of the lure and the hook exits off to the side . Then the lure runs crooked .
