The heat gets me . I went today and fished a few minutes then stopped . It wasnt worth it .

I saw KVD live pull up to a bank then reverse direction and fish down it . He had to ask the spectator boats to get out of the way because they pulled in behind him . Sheesh!

I had to leap frog a couple of boats on a 200 acre elec motor only acre lake a while back . They were moving too dang slow .?

My biggest is the people who back down the ramp and they are not prepared to launch . They get out , unhook the transom straps , remove the motor brace , dig out the life jackets , put sun screen on little ones ....on Memorial day weekend with a dozen boats waiting and then the next person repeats it .

Plastic worms , I have hundreds of Manns Jelly Worms . I dont know about diving crankbaits . Probably Rebel Deep Wee R's or Berkely Dredgers . Spinnerbaits , Strike King . Lunker Lure buzzbaits . lipless cranks Strike King Red Eye Shad .

Dont worry about it . I have caught fish like that also . Its not exciting but some of those bass have been huge .

For me a short pistol grip rod is better than longer rods for top-waters like Spooks and poppers . I believe that most people who use 7 foot and longer models have never tried the shorter rods for top waters and dont know what they are missing .

Strange things happen . Dead-sticking Hotdogs , I wouldnt think , is a productive way to catch bass most days .

The bottom lure is a standard Pop R , the top is a vintage Rebel popper , dont know what it was called . I call it a chugger . This lure is noisy. A sharp but short snap of a rod [5'5" ' or 6" pistol grip ], will spit water over 6 foot . I have had a few 50 to 100 fish days by casting this to standing timber in deep water and making as much noise as possible . The best time is on brutally hot summer days . I havent used this technique for over a decade because my body can no longer tolerate high heat for any length of time . I also have a large vintage Pico Pop that I use the same way .

You have some pretty good places marked . I dont know enough about the lake to say if the fish can be 40 foot deep . There are some humps on the end of points that you have marked , those are text book areas and will probably be receiving a lot of pressure this weekend .

You are now a much better bass angler than you were a week ago .

1 to 2 acres just fish it all but I suspect the bass will be on the deeper side .

Male bass, during the spring, will often get red fins and tails . Even the dorsal , pelvis and pectoral fins turn red , not bleeding . I think its a way to attract females to the nest . A lot of species do this . I recently caught several males with red fins .

For crankbait A shad color with some chartreuse in it like chartreuse sexy shad .

I havent used tungsten because of the expense . I was hoping they would come down at some time .

Its 540 acre bowl shaped lake and not a lot of structure that stands out .As papajoe222 stated, theres a small point at 2 o'clock .

Exactly . When I set the hook and there is nothing there I'm setting it again as soon as I'm in position to do so ..

I use a lot of buzzbaits , Texas rigs , crankbaits and spinnerbaits at night . I have not caught bass deep though . I've tried an will continue to try but it just hasnt worked .

I havent thrown a spook for years . I just never had much luck with them . I can half step them around a stump but cant get a fish to hit .

I dont open a beer until I catch a fish .

I thought this was something most everyone did when the first attempt is weak . I guess in this day of super sharp hooks its not as common as it once was .

A chartreuse spinnerbait . ? When I get on a good spinnerbait bite its hard to put it down . They can go places and do things most other lures cant . Them and buzzbaits can jump logs and be worked through the smallest gaps .

Sometimes i'll set it more than twice .
