  1. You're going to need a measuring board .
  2. Three and a half hours into the tourney and my team has caught a total of two fish for three lbs . Lots of room for improvement .
  3. What did you think when you first hooked it ?
  4. I'm going to fish cover , structure or a combination . I'll hunt classic structure . I really like major points , humps and saddles . Then visible cover . If a map is available I will look for an area with a lot of zigzag contour lines and hit the cover there .
  5. I third the windy banks . Wave action stirs up sediments which attract little fish , which attract bigger fish...
  6. I use XL and Big Game . Not saying they are the best , they just serve me well .
  7. I never used floro for crankbaits . I dont carry 10 to 20 combos like the pros do so I just stick with mono to cover everything . I tried floro and braid on a worm rod and switched back to mono .
  8. I look at my rod . it is rated for line and weights . I use what it recommends .
  9. I use 12 lb Big Game .
  10. Details ? Thats a hawg .
  11. I have used the bigger ones and they work well for bass . Bank fishing on rip rap dams is a good place to use them . That way you can let them sink to the bottom , pop them up then retrieve close to the bottom with occasional pauses . They are so inexpensive you can lose a few to the rocks and not be out much .
  12. 17 lb xl is .015 in diameter . Thats my preferred line plus it comes in blue fluorescent which I prefer for pitching .
  13. Angler A Brett Hite Phoenix, AZ - B Micah Frazier Newnan, GA - C Edwin Evers Talala, OK - D Brandon Card Caryville, TN - E Timmy Horton Muscle Shoals, AL
  14. Thats a great looking little .structure lake .
  15. When bass have the shad horded in balls and in a feeding frenzy I use whatever I can reach them with . When shad are all over the surface and bass are hitting them occasionally , I just ignore them and fish like they are not there .
  16. Longer days mean the lake will warm up fast , real fast . Wed was a cloudy day with air temps in the mid 60's and water temp "surface' in the mid 50's . Thurs was a sunny day with air temps in the mid 60's and before the day was over , water temps were in the mid 60's . Thats a ten degree rise in 24 hours . Wed and early thurs the bass were on wood in the first half of creeks , nothing in the rear half , then late Thurs I was catching them clear in the back . Things are changing fast , hourly .
  17. Iv'e never had any luck with Daredevil or Krocodile type spoons . Have caught a few fish on weedless spoons . Jigging spoons , I have done well with .
  18. I cant supply you with any answers . I went twice this past week for the first time all spring and did decent with a spinnerbait around shallow wood .
  19. I carry two Plano boxes for crankbaits when I go fishing but I have a lot more than that . One will include square-bills and lipless the other long bills .
  20. Add a little drizzle and tie on a buzzbait .
  21. What kind of spoon did you use ? Theres a lot of different types .
  22. Texas rigs , Little George , jigging spoon , jigs , bunches and bunches on crankbaits , spinnerbait ,and even caught one at night on a buzzbait . I thought that buzzbait cat was a double digit bass . Talk about a rug pull .
  23. Bait knockers dont work unless you can get over the snag . In your case a pole is the best choice .When fishing from bank I normally use inexpensive lures that dont hurt so much .
