Theres not a lot of rock where I fish except I do fish a lot of rip rap. Theres not a lot of sharp edges on riprap.

No leader , just straight braid. 15 lb for finesse applications.

I have used the back half of torn up lizards as jig trailers many times.

I like lizards a lot. They work spring, summer and fall , from shallow pitching to deep points, in purples and electric grape .

Pre spawn a spinnerbait with magnum willows are effective. Its also when I start twitching a bomber Prop A which is a Long a Minnow with a tail prop. Its dynamite and being I'm about the only person who has some , the bass dont see them .

I dont get to fish for spots often. A couple of years back, I lucked into them when they were bedding. Dark brown tubes were getting a lot of results.

Someone mentioned on the Matt Herren thread that another angler was being investigated and possibly disqualified for the Okeechobee event . Then Scott self reports himself a day before the event on a conversation that happened a few weeks back. I think theres more to the story.

Remember Real Claw. It was crawfish oil and oil based scents reportedly dont work. Anyhow, I was fishing a worm doused with Real Claw around 20 foot deep . I detected a bite and slowly reeled a keeper bass to the surface, then set the hook. Dont know if the scent played a part in the bass refusing to let go or not.

I use to spend a lot of time idling around staring at the screen, in an effort to learn it. Now I spend less time , with it , more time fishing. I use two D units and identify fish arches, thermoclines, structure and cover fairly quickly. I keep marker buoys handy when I see something that catches my attention. Old school, I know but I enjoy fishing that way.

They may as well use a Magic 8 Ball.
