I like the wind but almost impossible to fish from my two boats in anything over ten mph. My little one man boat , it will get swamped. My wife wanted a deck boat and that thing blows around like an empty potato chip sack. When trying to fish in standing timber , it bounces around like a pin ball machine.

I sold a bunch of tackle at a yard sale. I wish i had some of those baits back. Now I'm afraid to unload lures. I did give a cousins son two grocery bags stuffed full of soft plastics .

I just had an idea for a free rig. Instead of buying expensive special weights. Take the cheapest round jig heads and clip the collar and hook off.

I've never used a Free Rig but a tube seems like a logical choice for one . I might have to get some weights and try it.

Just a wide gap hook. Dont know the brand or size. I just have them thrown in a compartment and dig through until i find one I like.

Skipping is 50 per cent skill, 50 per cent bait. The easiest lure I have found is tthe PopShadz by Z-man.

I dont think it makes a lot of difference . I got a good buy on Gizits a few years back so I use them. Nobody carries tubes here. The closest place I know of is 90 miles away.

The Flying Lure caught several bass and crappie yesterday. Those lures are a genius design. Anglers make fun of them but they work as advertised. I was fishing them on a rip rap dam. Could have caught more but wanted to keep going around the lake.

Its been almost six months since i've been fishing. Having some issues. I'm heading out tomorrow and have a Flying Lure tied on .

I had 72 fillets taken from an over poulated lake that MDC wanted thinned out. My brother was having a bar B Que. I took my Coleman stove and fried those bass up. Everybody loved them. Even those who said they dont like fish

My favorite Red Eye Shad is a chrome with blue back , silent model. This one is not silent though. It has a faint tap. It excels as a lift and drop bait but I'm afraid to use it . Its not replaceable. I have to be pretty sure there is not a snag present. AJ has one .

Texas rigs because they catch more fish in more places . Buzzbaits because they are so much fun. Spinnerbaits just because.

I fish lakes with a trolling motor only. I might have a destination but I'll fish my way there. Spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, cranks and chatterbaits are all good while on the go , but if I come across something good I'll stop and fish it more thoroughly. I had to learn the roll cast to fish quickly and efficiently.

I grew up eeating bullheads, channl cats and carp. I think bass taste amazing if they are small. I like the lakes with slot limits . I take my stringer of small ones and not feel guilty. Largemouth mainly. I have had a smallmouth and a few spots. They tasted the same to me.

Like all the other older anglers ,I use a lot of dated and often discontinued baits because they work and are not used much anymore.

Some pretty good rosters here. For awhile I didnt think anybody was going to include buzzbaits.

Red Eye Shad, I yoyo them a lot. I was fishing one in an aluminum jon boat about 15 to 20 foot deep and could actually hear it falling . Also could hear hits . That aluminum bottom magnified the sound. At one time, three years out of four , my largest bass of the year was caught this way.
