  1. Bite days happen a lot more frequently on waters that dont recieve much pressure. I've been lucky enough to fish for unpressured bass and have 100 fish days.
  2. The Fat Raps I referred to cast slightly better and are more responsive with a tighter action.
  3. Zaldain and Matt Roberttson are live on their Youtube channels. I'm picking Zuke
  4. I have caught more bass on a jelly worm than all othe lures. I still have several packs of 6 inch and 8 inch . The 12 inch I have never used but have that one pack.
  5. Something that has worked extremely well for me the past few years when the fishing is tough is to let lures pendulum back toward me. I have used neds, tubes and small swimbaits this way. I simply let the lure sink to the bottom then raise the rod tip from about 9 to 11 and hold it there . The lure pendulums back instead of dropping straight down. I've used it on points, flats and rip rap. It has become a staple technique for me.
  6. I'll take the ribeye but if the choice was a fried pork chop with mashed potatoes ,milk gravy and corn, thats my favorite meal. I save bacon grease for gravy.
  7. I have a couple that seem to be a little denser than normal. They appear to work better.
  8. A buzzbait that the blades spin on the cast are easy to throw, like The Original Lunker Lure .
  9. Zuke Fothergill Ebare Foutz Kimura
  10. I have a set of Blue Fox in-line spinners that I never opened. I tried Mepps a long time ago and only caught a few dinks. It was a Black Fury and one with a white blade. I think it was a comet with a single hook.
  11. Digging through my stuff and I found a new pack of black grape 12 inch jelly worms. I dont know if I should use them , sell them or just keep them.
  12. I pour my own baits and have a selection of deep water lures at 1/2 oz. I kind of copied the dimensions of a 1/2 oz Rocket shad .I use a single willow blade . It sinks quickly and stays down there, I dont have trouble casting it like I do with heavy baits..
  13. A tube or ned on rip rap will usually catch something.
  14. I use to fish those little strike King Mini Spins in heavy current below a dam. I would add a bullet weight to aid in casting and keep it at the desired depth.
  15. Yes. I lost two large hybrids because they some how wrestled that stupid hook off.
  16. My favorite lure. Not my most productive but the funnest to throw.
  17. I have some living rubber skirt material in several colors but find premade silicone skirts too handy to ignore.
  18. Spooks wear me out. Sometimes I work them all the way in, sometimes I dont.
  19. As a Cardinal fan , Sandberg gave me fits.
  20. I toss them all on a 7 foot mh rod. I dont get caught up in having a rod for every lure catergory.
  21. I dont use the little panfish sized lures for bass. I use the larger size with bait casting gear. The size I like are no longer available but they make a 1/2 oz salt water version.
  22. I have several old ones. Havent used them a lot.I have caught a few fish with a bone one.
  23. Just the smell of the water gets me motivated. We see cool things every time we go fishing . Cant experience those things in the house.
  24. Just stop and fish a culvert. The drainage ditches I have fished have them and bass hang there. Big ones.
  25. Tragedy happen so quickly and unexpectedly. RIP Catt.
