Single Colorado Blade Spinnerbait
I like them . The Midnight Special is the one I use now days . The old blakemore Charlie Campball spinner was my favorite lure when I first got heavy into bass fishing .The Bassbuster scorpion is a classic , I still have only one of them .

Bagley balsa Sunny B Crankbait
I lile the old Diving B's and the Honey B's. They catch fish , but bounce one off a bridge piling and it might break . I have broken a lot of them

Do You Support Your Local Bait and Tackle Shop?
The only independently run tackle shop around here caters to the crappie and catfish anglers . I buy nightcrawlers from them , that is all.

A little help on fishing points from the bank
Heres my point fishing from bank advice . Get a lot of sinking lures . T-tigs , Spinnerbaits , lipless cranks , soft plastic swimbaits... Make long cast out on the point and around the edges . Let bait hit the bottom . Retrieve by following the contour shallow . T-rigs are usually hopped , the other lures can be hopped or swam . Sometimes I'll reel a lure in for about ten foot then kill it . You get a lot of hits when you stop it and it also will sink to regain contact with the bottom . Of course there are other ways to fish but this is how I do it most of the time .

Overcomplicating things
I am not that guy . I dont care what everyone else is using . Half the time on this forum I dont know what lures you guys are talking about . When I first got serious into Bass fishing I was that guy for a couple of years . Then I discovered the T-Rig worm and it changed my approach to bass fishing . So now, before buying a lure, I imagine where that lure is going to be used .

A Sharp Hook is a Happy Hook
Get a Leatherman Wave . It has a diamond file and is the best hook sharpener I ever used . I carry a Leatherman Charge , it also has a diamond file , every-time I go fishing and use it all day long .

Compact Spinnerbaits
Another fan of the Rocket shad except you have to wrap wire around the hook or risk it coming off in a fight . That has happened to me a few times .

Superstition & Rituals
I like to tie on a plastic worm , they seem to bring me good luck . The real answer is no . I am not superstitious by any means .
-
Catch & Release
I keep and eat small bass . They are delicious . A lot of lakes have slot limits and I eat the ones under the slot mostly . If i badly hook bigger fish and they are bleeding profusely I will keep them also .One lake I go to of has no length limit and a 12 fish creel . They are encouraging anglers to keep fish and I'm happy to oblige .

Windy weather bass fishing
I like beetle spins or any small spinnerbait fished along extremely windy banks . A half dozen different species might be caught . Even the catfish will come shallow to feed .
