  1. I use some old Eagle Claw wide Gap hooks that are short and round . Matter of fact I use them with small shad for catfish , they hook like an octopuss hook .
  2. Step back , think about it , try something else , repeat .

The Deep Wee R was such a good bait that I dont understand why it fell out of favor with anglers .The one improvement they could make is move the front hook hanger forward . The hooks get tangled ,
  4. Probably be bumping the bottom off a deep point . I'll guess a worm .

The lake I fish the most use to have pads , then the grass carp cleaned them out . I fished them with Texas rigged worms the most and would sometimes catch fish on Bill Plummers Super Frog . I have never used the new hollow bodied frogs on pads , because there are no pads where I fish .
  7. Thats a bad stringer Dwight .
  8. Those aluminum hooks have to go .
  9. You didnt say bass fishing . My best day of fishing was on Mark Twain lake .It was July and I found a large school of catfish on the depth finder out on an offshore flat . I caught a bunch of shad with a casting net and dropped them in a cooler full of ice , I've done this before . I dont try to keep the shad alive just keep them as fresh as i can . I anchored there , from about 6 o'clock until 2 in the morning,.catching channels and blues . If I went more than a couple of minutes without a bite then the bait was already gone . No giant fish were caught but lots of 5 to 10 lbers .The fish never did stop biting . On a side note I was using my running lights for illumination .I had an extra white light in the bow in place of the red green one . A Great Blue Heron appeared out of the darkness and lit in the bow of my boat , I was fishing from the stern. Scared the crap out if me .
  10. I have a new Boyah Boo rig that holds 4 Twister tails , hooklesss and then you can add a crankbait .. Ive been thinking of trying this lure on there around standing timber ..
  11. Paul Elias . hes wins tourneys by doing what others dont . Also Rick Clunn and Guido . They just do their own thing i'd like to go sucker fishing with Guido lol. Also like to fish with KVD so I could kick his butt with a spincaster ..
  12. Try pegging your weight to keep it next to the lure and and pegging your lizard in place so it wont slide down the hook .
  13. Texas rig weightless . Use a flat worm like the Yum Swurm . It will go through it . Guarantee it . I fish it in slimey , snotty moss mixed with duck weed and catch a lot of big bass doing it . I plop it right on top . sometimes i can plop it in place , drives the bass wild . I use a big heavy flipping hook . It adds a little weight for casting and it has to be strong enough to pull in a 7 pound bass with several lbs of weeds .
  14. Does your Trap have a lip . I just purchased a floating lipped Rattle Trap . bleeding shiner . Its like new but has poor hooks .
  15. i carry one rod . I wear a vest and the pockets are stuffed with small boxes of terminal tackle and lures . The lures have to match the action of the rod . I have waded rivers for miles like this .
  16. Years ago I purchased this lure in chrome . The plan was to use it for lunker bass when they are feeding on large shad . Its new in box , never have used it . with all the folks throwing large swim baits , wouldnt this be about the same thing ? Have any of you ever used one ? Its a six inch long lure .
  17. I've never used a senko , to expensive . So I use the wave Tiki sticks instead . More times than not I am biting them in half to fish on jig heads to give it enough weight to cast easily on baitcasting gear . Ive had 100 smallmouth days fishing like this on a river .
  18. I dont believe I've ever seen mussel meat floating on the water . I'll mentally file that away in case I ever do . Good tip .
  19. I rely on timing and knowing when my lure touches down . Snags still happen but getting that lure back up before it has time to sink deeply in the crevices sure cuts down on them . .
  20. Trilene xl is manageable ,,strong . , inexpensive and available everywhere .
  21. Other than pork , i dont have a favorite and use whatever .I just dont think it makes much difference if I use a Mr twister double tail , Guido bug , Salt craw , .., I even use lizards .A half of a Tiki Stick or similar worm works well on light jigs .
  22. Some bass will be deep some shallow . Fish where you are comfortable and if thats not working ,then try for the other population . Sometimes the deep bass are way more cooperative than the shallow ones . In the summer I fish about 50/50 deep vs shallow .
  23. LOL . I find lots of fishing line too . Cant hardly fish a brush pile in one lake because the crappie anglers leave their line in it . Then the catfish anglers with their 50 lb test . Dont want to hook into that stuff while trolling .
  24. A couple of weeks back I found a GoPro in the gulf of Mexico.I have pictures of the person who lost it but cant Identify him . I posted it on Facebook so maybe he will see it . If not I have a new camera .
  25. I float the salt river . I'm lucky enough to access private property to put in and take out . Salt river is very unpredictable and they will raise it without any notice . Fishing trips are hard to plan because the banks are steep and the water swift when they open'er up . I have never done it but I heard Otter creek above Mark Twain is a nice float with good fishing .
