  1. Spanky , I wasnt serious . LOL . When a school of fish is located , for instance on a point . You cant throw them all in a livewell .I'd have fifty fish in there at times . I just toss them back , unless I'm saving a few legal fish to eat .
  2. Yeah they communicate . Often one fish gets hooked and others try to help them get the hook out , sometimes becoming hooked themselves . .
  3. Norman Deep Little N Norman Middle N Bomber 5A Bomber 6A Luck E Strike Rick Clunn square bill colors bluegill/yellow and shad with the money you save then add a couple of lipless cranks .
  4. There are so many . Bill Norman and Bombers got it right a long time ago .
  5. I've had the best luck on Traps but I also used them the most .
  6. I was Carolina rigging one of those old Manns worms with the exposed hooks . I set the hook and reeled in a crappie . It wasnt hooked . The line went around the fish and the hook caught the line and pulled tight .
  7. Personally , I think chrome works better on cloudy days . Bomber makes lures with the silver flash insert and even though the sun is not shining it still flashes realistically .
  8. Hey , I organize my stuff every winter . well most winters .
  9. The most weedless lure I have used .that can even be fished in what bluebasser calls snot grass is the old Riverside Top Gun . I have caught a whole bunch of big bass with it in a pond that was choked full of snot grass/ moss . I think the new Yum Swurm is the same thing . I still have packs of the Top Guns that I save for such situations . I use them weightless with a big heavy flipping hook to add casting weight and not bend when reeling in an 8 lb bass and several lbs of moss .The worm is flat and skims over the moss .
  10. Gizits are great . I went fishing once this summer and accidentally left my soft plastics at home . I searched through all my gear and found a pack of black Gizits . I Texas rigged them and had a fine day of catching bass ..
  11. The most challenging thing to me is catching a limit . I dont fish tourneys now days but still push myself to catch a limit . The most satisfying is when its been a tough day fishing but in the end I have a working pattern going .
  12. In the 80's a popular color around here was a Blakemore spinnerbait with white skirt and red blades .
  13. I use Manns the most but any other worm will work just as well. Another worm that I have the utmost confidence in is the Mister Twister Phenom chartreuse / black core .
  14. Leatheran Charge or Wave . The diamond file sharpens hooks real well . It does a good job at sharpening trebles too .
  15. So if you have 500 lbs of water in a tub and add a five pound bass , it still weighs 500 lbs ?
  16. Leatherman Wave .
  17. 6 inch Manns Jelly worm . I have caught more fish on Black Grape than any other color .
  18. Leatherman Charge . I dont go fishing without it. Besides the pliers and two knife blades it has a diamond file which is the best hook sharpener I have used . I also honed the eyeglass screwdriver to a point and use it to bust paint out of jig head eyes . The Wave would be the same thing and much less expensive . I picked up mine at a pawn shop .
  19. In an alternate universe I am fighting the world record bass right now and the girl from the AT&T commercial's is wearing a bikini and trying to net it .
  20. I cut through the rib cage when filleting fish . On small "bass" a traditional knife slices through the ribs easily. When a bass reaches about fifteen inches , I cant cut through those rib cages , so then I use a Mister Twister electric fillet knife , if there is a plug in . I also have a knife that clips on a 12 volt battery that I have used a few times and it works well . Cant think of the make right now , but its orange .
  21. If I dont vote do I lose the right to complain if I dont catch any bass ?
  22. I'm going to spend more time trying to figure out what kind of fish are showing up on my depth finder . I know twp spots that are always stacked with fish and I have caught a few bass there . I cant help but think that someplace on those deep flats is a spot full of big bass , I just have to put in the time and find them .
  23. I speculate almost all good bass anglers grew up fishing for anything they can get. When they branch into bass fishing it comes easily .I know a couple of River rats [ thats what i like to call them ] they can fish for anything anywhere and catch them .
  24. I have bought good inexpensive spinnerbaits and bad ones . The first thing I look at is the swivel. If its a bad swivel I dont buy it unless its a quarter and I want the skirt . I like to let spinnerbaits fall and cheap swivels will not allow the blade to spin . I also prefer single willow blades b\because I think they fall better .I cant find them anywhere so I gave a co angler a lot of lead and hes going to make me some. I've had Terminators that came in upside down and they couldnt be tuned . I had to add weight to the hook shank to make them usable .
