  1. Submerged beaver structures are one of the top bass attractants I have found. I know a few that are almost always productive for multiple fish . There are two problems with them . I might get a Texas rig through it the first few cast, might not but I will always eventually get caught up in it no matter how finnessee I try to sneak a worm through. Second problem is if I wait too long to set the hook , the bass has already wrapped me up . I have to be quick to get the bass out. These tangled messes go from the bank out to almost ten foot depth. How do you go about fishing them?
  2. One night I could not catch a bass on a buzzbait, although I was getting hits regularly . I took some needle nose pliers and bent the wire frame in a stair step fashion "Cavitron style" and started hooking up . The bait was riding slightly deeper. I now do that to all my buzzbaits since I pour my own . I believe I get a higher percentage of hookups. I made a jig to bend the wires to keep them straight. Its just two nails in a 2x4.
  3. I like to rough up tubes with my fingers real good, a Randy Blauket hack. Then I keep that tube on until it literally cant be used anymore. The more chewed up it is , the better it works, at least thats the way it seems.
  4. J.D. Drew "former baseball player for my team the Cardinals" because I'm frequently on the disabled list.
  5. I've been fishing out of a little one man boat, leaving the monstrous 22 foot Lowe deck boat in the garage. Its equipped with a trolling motor and depth finder. So I guess thats a "3.78". But , it is so quiet that I can sneak up on carp and whack em in the head.
  6. I have arthritis in my right wrist . It hurts to pitch. I take Naproxen before I start and another during the day if needed. I also bowl and have to wear a wrist support . I cant sling a heavy bowling ball without it. If I needed one while fishing I would wear it.

    Do-It molds hand poured?
  9. In extremely muddy water , I rarely throw a crankbait. I can remember one time catching a couple with a rattle trap but dont remember the color. In stained water 1 foot of visibility chartreuse black back is a good color for a square bill.
  10. Never have.
  11. I use a Carolina rig as a deep water search bait . I take a 3/4 to 1 oz weight with about a two foot leader too explore deep flats and extended points quickly. I never use a long leader as I have not found an advantage to it. A one to two foot leader is all I ever use.
  12. I would not too but a lot of these nutty rednecks around here dont know how to "human". So if they want me to park 50 yards out of the way I'll do it.
  13. I put the trolling motor down and go fishing . I'll pitch a texas rig in a brush pile with baitcasting gear on one cast and on the next cast target rocks with a spinning rod and a ned rig. My largest bass this year has been on the ned.
  14. I had a nasty note left on my windshield yesterday by an angler complaining about my parking. I didnt have a trailer and was parked in the picnic area, in a designated parking spot. I dont know. I guess because I was fishing he wanted me to park with the vehicles towing boats. sheesh. I'll park there from now on just because I dont want my truck vandalized
  15. I grew up going to fish fries featuring carp or buffalo. Living in a river town with a fish market , they were popular . A few years ago I was going through Grafton Illinois . There was a fish market and they were selling carp and buffalo sandwiches. I had to stop and get one . It was good. I use to save the stones from drum heads. I think I still have a few.
  16. I fish lakes with slot limits, The conservation dept encourages anglers to keep bass under the slot. I keep a limit every trip. As far as taste, I guess Missouri bass tase better than other states. Everybody who has tried them rave about how good they are. I fry them dipped in egg and Andys red.
  17. I'm still looking for the ultimate texas rig worm hook. I Imagine I always will be.
  18. I plan on doing that some day. These are all mint condition . A lot of Image comics including the very first Image comic . Youngblood issue 1. A few Marvel and a few Batmans.
  19. Buzzbaits have always been my favorite but a long way from my most productive. They are so much fun. Most productive is a worm.
  20. I just purchased app. 60 comics in pristine condition , for 100 dollars. They are all in a plastic sleeve's with cardboard backing. Whoever bought them was collecting them. These are not Silver Surfers , Hulks... mostly stuff I never heard of, from 1990's forward. Theres a couple that look like they have some value. Turok the Dinosaur Hunter Gold Edition and Eternus. Lots of #1 issues. Titles like Shadow Hawks, Dr. Giggles, Ninjettes, Prime, Solar... Just lots of misc. books dont know if they have value or not.
  21. I used both the Bomber Mini Whacker and Strike King Mini King with zero problems. I've caught hybrids in current and they stood up.
  22. Stick around forty years, You will slow down.
  23. One of the first lures I had. That along with a Hula Popper, Lazy Ike and Flatfish that I got for Christmas one year .. Never caught much with any of them.
