  1. I thought it was stunning. Seen it twice now. This time a solar flare could be seen with the naked eye. Now I wish Betelgeuse would hurry up and explode.
  2. Pretty tough conditions. I fish shallow with a black jig and a black spinnerbait with copper blades. Why copper,?I couldnt tell you but it works.
  3. 19 bass s a little surprising. I make my own and usually retire a bait after about 30 bass. Not always though . If the wire is getting bent up rather easily then I go ahead and retire it early.
  4. I think we have a winner.

    Is that Bob Ross?
  6. It helps if you like fishing. Some folks like catching but not fishing.
  7. You can get this thread shut down for saying that. I know.
  8. In cold water I "always" had better luck on sunny afternoons. I like to fish sun baked banks , preferably steep and rocky. A Wiggle Wart cast parallel to those banks are famous for that type of fishing . I hold my rod tip close to the water surface to get a couple more feet out of it and reel as slowly as I can stand it. Its a good way to catch a big female.
  9. I texas rig probably 50 per cent of the time . If I'm shallow fishing visible cover 5/16th oz is what I normally pitch with . I have a hard time using anything lighter than that but can get by with 1/4oz . Over hand casting I can get by with different weights.
  10. I just dug out my Bass hunter Bass Baby . It has wheels . It slides into a truck. I'm able to handle it by myself.
  11. Is this a light action spinning rod? If so, try barely hooking the worm on the side. Use a small soft worm and light wire hook .
  12. When I first started texas rigging it was with a 5'6'" MH rod . Thats what everybody used. Spool it with heavier line. 15 lb Big Game will work and cross their eyes with big hooksets.
  13. Vegetation, for me, requires stout tackle. So there has to be enough weight to cast. This doesnt float but sinks slowly . I use it on top of emergent vegetation with pauses , especially in openings and thin spots. Caught a lot of big bass this way . .
  14. A weightless Texas rigged worm twitched on top of the vegetation is a proven technique . Make sure it weighs enough to cast. I like to use a heavy flipping hook to add weight. Yum Dingers have some mass to them.
  15. I was referring to the old crawfish color .
  16. The bodies were beefier at the front too.
  17. I caught bass on the white, yellow, green, black and crawfish. The crawfish pattern is hard to find at the stores but its a good one. Just looked at the Pure Fishing site and its no longer listed.
  18. There use to be a Beetle larger than the 1/4 oz, it may have been 3/8th. I used that lure a lot. I carry a beetle spin box in my truck and a pack rod under the seat . A lot of times I'll fish a beetle without the spinner, especially on rip rap dams. By fishing it on the bottom, it almost always catches a few..
  19. This aint late. I've seen them in December. 😁
  20. Harris Chain picks Hamner New Schmitt Martin Davis jr
  21. Was it on tv? I tried Fox sports on Sunday and it wasnt on. I watched it on BASSMASTER Live.
  22. Matt Herren's doing a decent job.
