  1. Yum Dinger, I can cut it down for Neds , fish it weightless for weeds,... Spinnerbait Buzzbait because its the funnest to throw Bomber Prop A because its my most productive top water Red Eye Shad
  2. Lee Thompkins Livesay Christie Cobb
  3. I would like to see limits place on sonar units. 2 units at the console and 2 units up front should be sufficient for anybody. Choose whatever , I dont want to ban them. Having 5 ffs units and a 360 degree field of vision , to me thats going a bit overboard.
  4. I once bought a striper sized Bagleys realistic shad crankbait to imitate the large shad often seen in the throats of big ones. I threw and threw that thing and never caught a single fish. The lip finally fell out. I still have the bait , hanging on my wall . Its pretty.
  5. Early one year I made a bright orange spinnerbait because it was spring and the water was mud. Threw that thing for several hours without a sniff. Switched to a chartreuse skirt and immediately started catching bass. Havent used and orange or red spinnerbait since.
  6. This. I never could figure out why my hair popping blades dulled after limited use. Now I put a micro edge on them and it makes them stronger and sharper.
  7. Fujitas fish barely fit in the bag.
  8. Chris" Big Swing and a Miss" Zaldain . I keep picking him just in case he gets hold of one.
  9. Hopefully Zaldain is one of them . My other guys have all been checking in .
  10. Looks like I picked up where I left off last year. It appears my shallow water picks are a big flop.
  11. Tubes are a lure I dont fish enough. When I throw tubes , I catch fish.
  12. My favorite nighttime crankbait is a crawfish red Crankin rap. I imagine it looks black.
  13. I never had much luck with red and orange baits. My lone exception is I use to have some orange Uncle Josh pork frogs and they worked well on a black jig in early , muddy water.
  14. I dont remember what lure I caught my first bass with but I would say either the pre rigged Creme worm or Beetle Spin.
  15. Bright tails on dark worms invite panfish to nibble. I dont use them .
  16. Most of my worm fishing will be in brush , so I'll need weight to pitch it in pockets. I like the bulk of the Yum Dinger paired with a 5/16th oz tungsten weight.
  17. Heres something to try . Go to steep rocky banks , if there are any where you are and parallel cast a crankbait. Cast right up the the shore. , drop the rod tip and retrieve agonizingly slow. A crawfish colored Wiggle Wart is an excellent choice. Banks receiving sunlight are best.
  18. I've been cranking for a long time. I'm not brand loyal. Use a lot of Berkelys, Rapalas, Rebels, Bombers, Storm, Normans... A lot of older baits get thrown.
  19. I have fell out of my boat at least twice. One time I was throwing a casting net , did a couple of ballet spins and off I went . Dad freaked out and came rushing to the front hollering at me to take his hand . I did not have the rope tethered to my wrist and was hollering at dad, "I'm a good swimmer, grab the rope before we lose it ." He said "hell with the rope give me your hand." I finally convinced him to save the net from sinking then climbed back in .
  20. This McKinney fellow has 4 top tens in 9 events. That is outstanding , plus a second place at Toledo Bend.
  21. For the past couple of years I run a "garlic" scented chartreuse marker down the entire length of a soft plastic. I cant prove it catches more fish but it seems to. When I ran out last year the fishing became tougher.
  22. As far as inactive gulls floating on the water or lining the shores, they are there because its a good spot to ambush bait fish like shad. They are just waiting for game fish to push the shad to the surface.. They are usually set up on a flat.
  23. You put the jig, like any other baits, in the right places , it will get bit. Dont sweat the small details. Use the weight you can silently and effectively put in cover the easiest .
  24. This is the best producing small crank I have fished,
  25. I fish a lot of baits with unique retrieves. One of my craziest is ripping crankbaits hard and fast, reel up the slack and repeat. I didnt invent it but never see anyone doing it. The Bomber Flat A is one I use a bunch.
