  1. Ill do my worst to make it next time. Sometimes life gets in the way. Maybe next spring a Kingman meet would work. Those fish should be big enough to make it fun!

  7. Pre-fishing for the Wichita Area Meet Up today. I took my Jig rod, and my Swimbait rod. I was 5 bites for 5 fish. All on a jig. Not just any jig. A Siebert Outdoors Storm Series Jig. 00Mod Gen 1 Brush Jig with a Black and Blue Uncle Josh Pork Frog Water was DIRTY!! Only a foot or so visiblilty with that big black/blue/purple jig. 17" @ 2lb 12oz This one came way back in the creek, looks like it got a little frisky with a hooker.... Without protection. Confidence with the jig is getting better.

  12. Ive yet to fish La Cygne. Its a decent haul for me. Will need to be one of those overnight trips for sure.
  13. That makes me feel a little better, Blue. I'm headed back out tossing those hudds tomorrow, I might even take a few jigs to toss into the water willow. We've had pretty stable conditions since the weekend, maybe it will prove to be a better go this time around.
  14. I was thinking about my last outing. The Central Bass Resource Kansas Meet. I missed a good many fish. I tossed a Jig/TRig most of the day. (Lake was littered with fixed docks/boat houses) I've always been a reel down and set kind of fisherman. But the more and more I think about it, I think that it's the reason I'm missing fish. I like watching mikeybalzzz Youtube vids, that guy can flat out catch some toads. And I notice that he just sets on his TRig/Flipping. No reeling down, just straight crossing the eyes. I've read that the sweep/set on jigs is how some do. Don't think there is a real question here. Just wanting a little input and thoughts on this subject.
  15. And the south way, even though way out if the way if you are coming from the north, is worth it IMO. Shorter/better gravel road.
  16. Besides, its not that big of a lake, how much pounding can it take in a day!!!
  17. Go look in the "Pay it Forward" section at the Flea Market.
  18. Id say 2 or so. I know my partner drives back to kc, so I wouldn't want to get him in too much trouble with the misses.

  23. Well after the Wabaunsee Bash, Caeleb and I went to Melvern. Had about a hour till dark and fished a bit. one of 2 that HAMMERED a RC Series 2 Squarebill. Someone is gonna pee the bed, playing with fire. Today was WINDY. Fished the north side, cranked a RC Series 2 Squarebill through a brush pile, thud thud of the sticks, WHAM, FISH ON!! Pulled hard, stayed deep, saw a flash of light colored side, thought "Shoot, a dang drum", then it came up. 3.5lb Greenie. Well... kinda pale greenie. After that, Wind picked up. I thought we would head to Marina Cove to get out of the wind. Started out of the cove, hit the main lake, and WOAH, Swells and rollers. I decided to put my tail between my legs and head back. One bite all morning, heavy wind, we decided to kust head home. Still fun though.
