  1. One thing I don't like about the Swimming Flukes from Zoom is that they are split down the belly. If you catch a few fish with them, or if you are experiencing short strikes, you can't bite the head off and reuse it/Shorten it up. There isn't alot there to hold it on the hook/keeper. The Dippers have a bit more body to them.
  2. Skinny Dippers/Little Dippers are nice. Im going to try some Rage Tails though. Seems like there are times when they want a thump of a dipper and when they want the subtleness of a grub
  3. Im using some Big Game right now. Going to pick up a spool if Copolymer soon to see if that would help with feeling things
  4. I cant get over the stretch feeling of the line when I work a Jerkbait. I feel I need to really jerk it hard and long to get the lure to move.
  5. Welcome to BR. I'm probably one of the closest to you. I haven't hit Kingman this year. Been waiting as long as possible to let some of those fingerlings get a little size on them. but I have caught some bigger fish from there. No pike, just Bass.
  6. Hell I think Im the only one that hasnt fished Wabunsee.
  7. I carry a Kershaw Scallion. I accidently dropped it from top of a ladder at work and broke the tip off. Sending it back for a warranty replacement. Solid knife, holds an edge well. Small enough to not be a bother in the pocket, but big enough to have confidence when using.
  8. Cold turkey for me. On my last pack, I trashed all smoking related items. Cleaned up butts, empty packs, ashtrays. I broke my last cigarette. Signifying my commitment. Its not something you just do. Its a complete lifestyle change. You will need to adjust everything. Breaks at work, driving, probably people/places you congregate. Great support from family and friends. Have someone you can call when you think youll break down and smoke. Then recognize what triggered that and eliminate it from your day. Good luck
  9. Nice! Looks like you picked up a camera mount. Very handy!!
  10. Well, Cardiff, Hull and Crystal Palace didnt fair well this past week. But!!! Look who they were playing. Hull vs Chelsea, Crystal P. vs Spurs, and Cardiff City vs West Ham. I am pulling for Hull a little. Tottenham sold some quality players that was just down the pecking order to them. Huddleston and Livermore.
  11. Personally, I like Light Rainbow, and Baby Bass. Friend of mine "Bluebasser86" has a Hitch one he loves. I know a guy in RI that tosses a Perch one.
  12. Lol. Im a Spurs fan. Kinda wondering how all our new pickups will be integrated. Once the Bale issue is dealt. I wonder if Tottenham offers the same kind of package. Hmmm I got rid of my cable after no on really watched it except me. Then NBC announced their EPL partnership. Im stuck watching crappy streams at the moment.
  13. EPL started yesterday. Anyone else here love the English Football?
  14. Make sure the eyes are clear BEFORE you bake them.
  15. For additives, even for non-ethanol gas I run Quickare, and Seafoam. Next tank, I will be switching to a cocktail of Quickare, and Quickleen.
  16. Gotta pay to play. Im sure you can get some, just will have to pay out the wazooo for shipping. Im loving my 00mod swimjigs. Really beat one up a couple weeks ago!!!
  17. I dont run ethanol fuel. I have a few places in about a 10-15min drive that has E-Free fuel. Check the sticky at the top of this section and see what you can find near you.
  18. I didn't go through Bob, but I have Progressive as well.
  19. I got the 8' 2x4s. I will be reusing my Stainless Lag Bolts per the instructions. I will agree there is some bow in them, But being a tin boat owner, I'm more than confident in it's support for my rig. Ya'll are correct in your assumptions that a heavier glass rig would be too much weight for them. I wouldn't even think about them for a 18' or longer glass boat. But then again, if I had a glass boat, then the Pressure Treated wood wouldn't be a issue. I accidently redid my bunks with pressure treated, then I learned about the chemicals used to treat wood and their reactivity with Aluminum. Didn't know any better. But now I do and I'll have easier launching and recovery too
  20. Completely understand that John. Not to mention the birds and such that travel from body of water to body of water. Many of the smaller lakes around me vary in water levels throughout the year. Earlier this year one lake was way low and it was advised not to launch. The dock was out of the water, and I even couldn't navigate around parts in my kayak without dragging. Now, It's blown out, flooded like I've never seen before. When the lake is on the lower side, launching alone is kinda challenging. I distinctly remember having a issue pushing off my Lowe the first time cause I couldn't dip the carpet deep enough to get it to slide of easier. I hope this would remedy that. As well as retrieving, I would feel more comfortable just being able to idle up to the stop, and hook up than having to gun the throttle up. I plan on putting it through the paces and posting up my views soon.
  21. My Bobberstopper keeps sliding up, should I be using a lighter lined one on a bigger diameter?
  22. I bet if Butler had more depth back toward the creek, it wouldnt have muddied the whole lake so bad. Half the lake is 6ft or less at normal pool.
  23. One of the reasons John is that the carpet is one of the main transports for Zebra Mussels. One of the lakes here its semi private, and the Guard Shack Nazi will spray Clorox-Water everywhere, and give you the 3rd degree while she's doing it. Lol
  24. Clayton the Exterminator. How was the water color? This rain affected it much?
