  1. Share the knowledge. Lol Congrats. Clayton knows his stuff for sure.
  2. Im going to advise to NOT fish from a boat fknlo. Its an EXPENSIVE suggestion. ROFLMAO
  3. You could catch a disease in the River. Lol. You want to catch some fish, pm me. Ill put you on some of my bank hopping spots
  4. I would say yes. Winfield City Lake has a permit you must buy, I bought it for my kayak trip. Better to be safe than sorry. But you could always call and ask.
  5. Im open for either. Thats right around my wedding anniversary, we was gonna get a cabin at Wilson for some smallies, but Ill change it up for the Fall Meet. Its about the same distance to Melvern also. Put me down as a boater with a partner.
  6. I like the upgrade option at St Croix. Ive dealt with a GLoomis breakibg, got a replacement.
  7. That was my plans for it. I emailed the seller, and sent pictures. (Figured it was the right thing to do) I purchased it from Ebay, and the description said "No Returns". I told him how the packaging wasn't damaged, and sent many pics. He said that it was fine when he sent it, and that his wife actually forgot to buy insurance for it..... But they was going to issue me a full refund immediately. I emailed him back thanking him, and asked where shall I ship it, since I had to get it out immediately due to me and the family leaving on vacation tonight. He said that normally he would file a insurance claim, and get reimbursed for the damages, but since insurance was never purchased, and since it was broke/cracked, that I shouldn't waste any of my mony on shipping it back. So I should just keep it and trash it or try to fix it. Guess who is going to call St. Croix right now.
  8. Purchased a used Avid 6'6"MF. Recieved it today in PVC tube. Inspected it and found a crack/splintering in the blank. I paid 98 for it. Should I keep it till it finally lets go, then use the Gold Service from St Croix for a replacement? (Save 20 bucks off if I had bought an out right new) Or return it for a refund and then be out the shipping money as well as looking for a replacememt?
  9. ^^ THIS or, keep an eye out in the Flea Market here. Sometimes you can come across KILLER deals on quality used gear. I saw a Loomis BSR852 go for 130 less than a week after I sold mine for 175. Alot of it is finding the post at the right time. But do ask about condition if it isnt posted, always ask for pics, and try to buy from higher post count, reputable members.
  10. I'll agree, when I respooled my Ultegra this season, the adhesive from the tape was a little bit of a pain to remove. I saw the line tie on the spool of the Super Duty, But, I was going to use backing, so I didn't use it. Is there a secret to the Arbor to not have it look like a ribbon on a Xmas present?
  11. I have 2 Shimanos. CI4 and an Ultegra Advance from Japan. The Stratic feela like its binding compared to the Ultegra. Its that effortless and smooth. Wife has a Daiwa Tierra and it takes less effort than the Ci4, but its not as smooth. Ci4 feels like its in a crankcase of oil, Tierra feels like same crankcase, just no oil.
  12. Spooled up a Super Duty Lews with backing and braid. I SUCK at Arbors. I cinch it down and the line looks like a abnormally long mole hair. On my Ultegra Shallow Spool, I tape with the provided clear strip. So, whats your fancy? Tape or Knots?
  13. If it was a Pre-Rapala Wart, that's an EXPENSIVE trip.
  14. Should have seen the look on her face when the postman knocked on the door with 2 boxes and a fishing rod.
  15. My boat right there. She says that she wants to be in the loop as far as sellings and buyings, but I still get the eye!! Her latest is, "How many rods do you have now?" She says. I explain all my setups and purpose. "She I have one" she rebuttals. Lol
  16. No problem bud. Without handling them I would prefer the medfast tip. You will probably be running fluoro or copolymer so there will be a little stretch to deal with.
  17. Out of those 2, I would suggest the MH/MedF. Bucoos are notorious to be a little soft in the middle from my experience. I had a Bucoo spinning rod and it flexed deep in the blank. I found it hard to get a solid hookset with it. Casting might be different. Sure there is someone with personal experience with these specific rods
  18. You can get a 5 buck aquarium thermometer for water temp.
  19. I use neoprene reel covers. Keeps all protected
  20. That will work fine. I tossed Minis on a Heavy Crucial Flipping Stick. The Shellcracker g2 tends to "Helecopter". But it still put fish in the yak with it. I used 55 or 65lb braid.
  21. Ive heard of people breaking off the scupper mount. I used the Deployment Arm, and the inside hull with Duct Seal. I like Flyfishers set up. I like the give it employs.
  22. This^^^ Kinami Palm Trees are the same. You can chuck'em a ways.
  23. I miss those days of backpack bank hopping. But lakes around here get SO pressured, it was usually fighting for space with the catfishers
  24. Right now, Crucial 7'6"H/F Diawa TD Advantage, 65lb braid. Its pulled 5lb fish out with 8lbs of slop on top of her
