  1. A stick worm comes through the junk better maybe?
  2. You "mainly buy megabass rods" and Shimano makes "quality reels(for the most part)" LOL You started a thread about the best mono for leader material and said you were "young, dumb, and broke" I'm rolling my pants leg up because it is getting deep in here.
  3. Back when I was in college and "Bassin on a Budget" I used Big Game and thought it was made from unicorn hair. I threw 12lb on one rod and reel and it was a "Texas rig/crankbait/spinnerbait/topwater" machine. But that was back when I was fishing for food as well LOL.
  4. I have a 6.2 on my deep crank rod. I have 4 HG reels (7.2-7.4) and 7 XG reels (8.1-8.5) so I would choose the 7.4 for what you plan to do.
  5. The same thing it's called in the link I posted.
  6. I don't know what you are paying for a K, but you can get a Bantam for a lot less than twice (unless you are getting the K really cheap). But yes, the Bantam is worth what I paid for mine over the cost of what I paid for my K. I paid about $90 more for my Bantams. I see it more as options. I mean there are 8 different Tatula models and 13 different Speed Spool models LOL
  7. Springfield Marine - Pro Seat Spring Lock???????
  8. I just used google and came up with this http://www.springfieldmarinescratchanddent.com/plug-in-control-post-31-to-37-w-mica-seat/ Not sure exactly what you are needing
  9. Although not directed at me, I ordered my SLX MGL from Japan.
  10. At least they weren't skin mounted.
  11. I wonder if he will offer some "limited edition" special jigs for customers to "test" for him. They will probably retail for $6 but if you pre-order them they will only be $4 plus shipping. Limited to 100 per size/color combo and only 100 size/color combos available.
  12. You could just go straight to the source, about as authentic as it gets. https://fishshop.shimano.com/collections/metmgl150 Part #BNT5431 SPOOL ASSEMBLY (WITH BEARING) $69.76
  13. Because no one is interested in buying it. LOL
  14. I have a Stradic Ci4 3000 on a 6'8 ML Zodias and I like it a lot. That being said, if I was going to do it all over again, I would go with the Expride 6'10 ML. I just got a 6'8 MH Expride casting rod and it is amazing.
  15. Finally got some good weather and a day off. Went to a power plant lake to give it a shot because the water warms up there faster than it does at the other lakes close to me. Got on the water about 9:15 and drove about 500 yards to a grass flat that I had caught some before. Tied on a 1/2 oz black/blue Project Z chatterbait and hooked up on about my 5th cast. Fished for a bit longer and switched to a 1/2 oz Spro Aruku shad lipless in Mudbug red. Caught 3 good fish in about 45 min. I weighed them just to see and they were from 2lb 4oz to 3lb 2oz. Fished the rest of the day with nothing. Finally caught another fish about 3:00 that was about a pound. Not sure what happened the rest of the day but as soon as the wind died and the sun came out it shut them down. I did better than a couple guys I talked to at the ramp that said they only managed a couple dinks. All in all, it was a good day. Edit* I don't think any of these are the same fish, but they might be. Trying to take pics using a ram mount and my phone set on burst mode. Not real good at it yet so I took a bunch.
  16. I will look into those. TW wants like $24 for a magnetic lure holder LOL
  17. I have both, I would take the MGL all day everyday over the K.
  18. I had never heard of this Jonny guy till this video was posted. I watched part of it and decided to check out his channel. I watched a couple of his videos about down and side imaging and I learned more from a couple of his videos than I have of all the other 30 or so I have watched up to this point. Maybe I just don't know it all so him dumbing it down a bit helped.
  19. Added another spinning setup to the lineup. Hopefull @A-Jay will be happy with me Got the Crucial here in the flea market and found a really good deal on the Stradic. Going to spool it up with some Sufix 20 lb 832 and throw some heavyish (3/16 oz) dropshot or some shakey heads
  20. I have no experience with the marine (blue top) version but I used to run the red tops in my Blazer when I was in to stereo competitions. This was back late 90's / early 2000's and they were top of the line at that time. I wouldn't hesitate at all to put them in my boat based off the results I got out of them.
  21. Time will tell. I'm going to try it out this weekend. I am not going to make any more till I see how this works. I had a hard time deciding on hole size for the reason you mentioned. I have smaller bits that I could use if needed. That is an 11/64 and I almost used a 7/64 but it looked a bit too small. I could actually use a regular bit on this aluminum since it is pretty thin so I do have a 1/8 I could use. We will see how it works and go from there. I like to tinker anyway so no big deal if it doesn't work
