Thanks for all the responses. As I had imagined, they are both fine reels and one doesn't particularly outshine the other. I think I am leaning toward the Bantam for now and will fish it as much as I can this fall/winter and get a Met come Spring time. I appreciate all the insight from you guys.

I saw this yesterday and I can't tell you how many times I've watched it. This kid gets it more than most adults I know. There are so many videos on the net of kids doing things that are obviously staged by their parents so they can get clicks and likes, but this one is as real as it gets. Congrats to the young guy and a big kudos to Mom and Dad for raising him the right way.

So it is going to cost $ no matter when and it doesn't matter what you bid unless it is a tie? So if I bid $10 for a player and someone bids $3, I still have to pay the $10? Just trying to figure it out since we are half way through the season and my money is going fast. I wasn't (guess I'm still not) certain how that worked. I assumed you would only get charged for $1 more than the next highest bid, could be why my money went so fast. That is what i get for assuming lol. That's where I was confused. I thought once they cleared waivers they were a FA and could be picked up (at least that's how I always had played). That's why I couldn't figure out how to add players last weekend without having to put in a bid, and not understanding how the bidding worked I didn't know when I would get them.

The bold part is what I don't understand. I took 2 zeros last weekend because I didn't know how to add any players since it was after Wed. So if I wait till after Wed. of this week then I can add and not have to bid on a player? Just trying to figure it out before I am out of money lol. Thanks for the response.

I'm looking at adding either a Bantam MGL or a Metanium MGL to the arsenal. I may end up getting both in the long run but just wondering for those who have used or own both which they preferred. I'm not worried about saving money when it comes to buying one over the other so that isn't the issue. Just wondering the pros of one over the other. Doubt there would be many cons for either of these reels. I would assume weight would be the biggest difference in the two and for some that may be here nor there. Thanks!

Quick question on the waivers. I have never played where you bid and only could add once a week so I am a little confused how it works. Might be why I am almost out of money already lol. If I want to add player A by this weekend I need to put a bid in for him. But if I don't get him then am I just SOL for this week? Would I need to bid on player A and bid on another player, player B, to ensure I get at least one of them? That being said, I do not need both (this is what has happened to me already) so I don't want to bid on 2 players. I guess what I am asking is, if I have a bid in on a player for this week but I don't get him, then am I just screwed? Also, if I bid $6 on a player does that mean that someone ahead of me on the waiver wire must bid at least $6? If someone bids $3 do I get him for $4 or do I still have to pay $6? Sorry, I've never played this format, it was always free drops and free adds as long as they were on waivers.

I had the same problems till I bought Stihl equipment.

Only way to know is to be there. Then you will know if it was good or not. Hard to catch them if you aren't there.

No joke! I found a mint 50mg7 on the auction site late the other night for $250 BIN. I went to the bathroom and came back to buy it and it was sold. Lesson learned.

My wife is so lazy she says she hasn't tied her tennis shoes in 4 years, she just slips them off and on while tied. I don't know if she's ever won any competitions, but that's a long time for a knot to hold. Is that what we are talking about?

I owned 2 and I really liked the way they fished. However, they both broke so I won't say they were great rods. One was possibly my fault for trying to horse a fish out of cover but the other just broke on a hookset.

I prefer a 7 or even 8 ratio reel to pick up the slack quickly.

One of my real good friends runs a flooring business, both residential and commercial. The new vinyl stuff is light years ahead of the old linoleum stuff. It is amazing how good some of it looks. It is super easy to clean and very hard to mess up. Very scratch resistant. As said though, do not get the cheap stuff and make sure you get a quality installation crew.

If you already have 6 combos there is no sense in buying junk just to get another one. Seriously though, If money is that tight around your house, I'm sure it can be spent on better things. I wouldn't buy, just to be buying. I would save it and wait till I could afford quality gear. The Black Max and Pro Max are junk. I bought them a few years back to use for hybrid bass and they both fell apart (plastic parts don't last). Others have talked about the Fuego and that would be a great reel and you could get an Aird X and be a little bit over $100 which would be worth it in the long run.
