Well, this may be of no use, but I will give you my current 5 as a co angler. 6'10 ML - finesse 6'10 M - cranks/jerks 6'10 MH - lipless/chatterbait/spinnerbait 7'2 MH - bottom contact 7'2 H - jigs All casting rods.

I have used a 4/0, but I prefer a 3/0 for the baby brush hog.

"High end" isn't about the products ability to perform, it's simply about cost. My daughters play softball and "high end" bats are the norm. I don't think they make them better hitters, but they certainly have them. I play Pro V1 golf balls and I could probably shoot the same with a Wilson ball. To each their own, but "high end" simply relates to cost.

For me it depends on the bait. I fish braid exclusively on all my rods. Jerkbait, lipless, spinnerbait, etc it's just a sweeping hookset. If I am throwing a jig or t-rig etc. it's usually a hard hook set.

He needs to try to get his shoulders more in line with his hips to avoid arm problems in the future. Look at videos of Nolan Ryan to get a good example of what I am talking about. Been there (arm troubles) as a college athlete and have been coaching 13 years. That puts a lot of stress on the elbow tendons and bicep muscle.

I can think of a couple lakes in Oklahoma that are better than Grand or Texoma, not sure who compiled this list and where the data came from.

I have caught fish with a jerkbait and by the time they got done shaking and in the boat the only hook still in them is outside the mouth. Is that considered foul hooked? I'm assuming so.
