  1. I have been wearing the original Curve for about 24 years give or take. I just spray a couple mists in the air and walk under it to waft it around. Put it on every morning and even after my shower before bed because my wife likes it.
  2. I throw cahtterbaits on Shimano Expride 7'2 MH-G (moderate) with 40lb braid. I throw spinnerbaits on a Shimano Zodias 7 MH (fast) with 12lb Sufix 832. However I think these rods are very much interchangeable due to the line I have on them. The rod absorbs some of the hook set with the braid and the line absorbs some of the hook set with the mono but both have the ability to drive the hook home. I do believe the MH fast action is a better all around rod though if that is what you are after. I would feel confident throwing a Texas rig on the MH-f if I need to.
  3. Sorry, those are all the different Texas rigs I carry in those weights. I might actually have the same color baby brush hog or sweet beaver or whatever on 2 different size weights. I might throw a Green Pumpkin baby brush hog on 3/16 oz Texas rig and switch to a Green Pumpkin baby brush hog in 3/8 oz just to see if they are wanting it at a different ROF. Nope. A swivel A snap
  4. I take 18 combos with me and they are all "pre-rigged". I use snaps for moving baits so I always have snaps ready to go on those. I also have a ned rig, drop shot, 3/16, 1/4, 5/16, 3/8, 1/2 Texas rigs ready to go, 2 jig rods and a frog rod ready to go. Edit* I never use a swivel.
  5. Good luck to you! Wishing you all the best with the procedure.
  6. When most people ask about reels there are a few things in particular they want to know. How does it handle light baits, is it forgiving in the wind, does it skip well, is it easy to pitch, is it smooth under a load, etc, etc, etc. If you don't have any specific questions about why one would be better over the other and all you want is the sound, then get any of them. Money no option, get the Antares DC MD XG, don't want to spend that much? Get the Scorpion DC, even lower, the Curado DC, but if the only thing you want is the sound, get the SLX DC.
  7. 1) Don't have both 2) A lot of differences 3) Yes
  8. Sometimes that might be too long. LOL
  9. As a lot of you know I upgraded my Terrova to an Ultrex a couple months ago. Now that the Terrova isn't being used I am trying to decide what to do with it. I am wondering if I should sell it while there is still some value in it or if I should just keep it so that I will have a backup if needed. Do some of you guys keep a backup, or what would you do in my shoes? I'm not even sure the best way to go about trying to sell it because I don't want to ship it, but there really is no need in it just collecting dust either. What say you?
  10. Winter - Jerkbaits, Spinnerbaits, Lipless, BFE, Christie Craw Spring - Chatterbait, Lipless, Sweet Beaver, Squarebill, 7" Power Worm Summer - Frogs, BIG worms, Baby Brush Hogs, Medium Cranks Fall - Senko, Speed Worm, Spinnerbaits, Squarebill
  11. Doubt we see a Met DC this year. I suspect there is a Chronarch with the solid body in the works but doubt we see it this year either. I would think it would have to be priced somewhere in the middle of the Bantam and the Met B.
  12. Well a frog bite is something that you can easily get addicted to. I still remember this one like it was yesterday.
  13. I can't say for sure what would work best for you. If you don't plan to use it a lot or don't know for sure yet how much you will use it, then I would say get the rod that fits your budget the best. I throw the A rig and Swimbaits on a Shimano Intenza that I got for $95. I might spend 20-25 hours during an entire year throwing it. If it were a technique I were going to dedicate more time to, then you bet I would buy a higher quality rod.
  14. IMO, it is how the rod casts as well as how it loads on a bite that are important but for me, I want it to be comfortable. I will sometimes throw a frog for 5-6 hours straight and this is usually when it is starting to get hot. I need a rod that is lightweight and comfortable to fish for long periods of time. I use a Shimano Expride (7'2 H or 7'3 XH) and while it is a $270 rod and plenty sensitive for bottom contact, I find it to be a perfect frog rod because of how comfortable they are.
  15. The average joe doesn't care what most guys are using. Just look at how many threads there are every year asking us what "we" think is the best rod and reel. If the average joe were influenced by what the pros were using they wouldn't come here and ask us. But you are suggesting it.
  16. Trolling motor, brand is up to you.
  17. Not sure why they would try to hide the fact that they are using a $300+ rod since they are fishing out of an $80,000+ boat.
  18. I love fishing a spinnerbait and it is a technique that while on the surface looks very simple, it can be a rabbit hole to climb in to. So many different sizes like 1/4, 3/8, 1/2, etc. Colors like white, shad, white/chart, etc. Techniques like slow roll, burn, yo-yo, sweep, reel and pause, etc. Areas like over grass, rock, stump fields, etc. Conditions like clear vs stained water, windy vs calm, sunny vs cloudy, etc. I would heed the advice above and begin to read all you can to get some basic knowledge of fishing a spinnerbait and then take the time to try certain different combinations to see what works best for you.
  19. I use straight braid in green, braid to fluoro leader, straight fluoro and hi viz yellow to leader. I won't go into specifics for how/when/where and why I choose to use each of them, but they all have their place in my opinion. I will try to answer your question the easiest way I can. On longer casts with slack line, I feel like there is an advantage as it relates to sensitivity with straight fluoro. I think it is negligible when the distance is shortened (think flipping or pitching) or their is enough weight on the line to keep it taut.
  20. Oklahoma v Nebraska 1971 would be my guess I was not yet alive, but it is all I have heard about since I can remember as being the game of the century.
  21. Keitech fat impact swam by in white Baby brush hog crawled over in white or red Senko on a short drop shot bounced on the bed, usually green pumpkin
