Ultimately the dangers of fighting fires are exactly that, dangerous. A closer eye should be kept on the chemicals/processes used in the manufacturing of materials (building supplies) to ensure that while under fire or demolition, harmful cancer-causing contaminants are not released.

would ask first what application you intend on using said reel for? then would say i never pay MSRP for anything so a $200 reel is more like a $225 or $250 MSRP for me and then find a deal bringing it down to $200...... so take that into account and maybe broaden your search. as far as a suggested reel, i got a lew's tournament pro on the auction site new for $145 and feel like for that price it's as good as you can get. if you're willing to look at used reels, you can get all sorts of steals on reels for $200 or less. i recently snagged a chronarch ci4+ for $150 shipped and i really couldn't tell if it had ever been used before....

if you shot that last video you posted like last week on the sony, i'd be sold on the sony. that was a solid video.

certainly you realize there is a legal season for hunting geese? to my knowledge, summer is not included in said season....

although i did not learn my manners in a barn, i may not have displayed them appropriately above either. i wasn't chastising anyone, but was certainly pointing at that this "current event" is not very current at all. this has been going for over a decade and has been covered by every major news outlet, with data available to back up the claims.

exactly what i said in his other thread in the smallmouth section.... as a kid we camped on needmore ALL THE TIME. float in intertubes, fish, cook out, camp .... that place is awesome. you can catch a lot of fish, none are going to be monsters but you can catch a lot in that stretch of the river. personally, the biggest i've seen from there was about 2.5 pounds, but my dad swears that as a teenager he caught one that he thinkgs was over 5! everytime we pass this one eddy he points to it and reminds me that's where i caught that big'un..... my only advice for a first timer is to take a friend with you. i would be skeptical of making that float by myself the first time as you can get into a couple of hairy spots there in the river. and yeah buddy on the small senko (pumpkin or green pumpkin for me) and then you HAVE TO HAVE a panther martin 1/8oz spinner black/yellow spots and gold blade. those are the only baits needed to catch those brown guys in that stretch of the river.

i agree about just talking to him about it any chance you get. also, if you can get your hands on any vintage books or magazines about fishing he may enjoy a trip to the past. also, some charity groups will take people fishing if they do not have a boat, you might look into that as well. my grandfather just passed away in November and he was a die hard trout fisher. We were taking him fishing right up until about the last 2 months where he just couldn't take it anymore. but all the way until has last moments, we talked about fishing and that was just about as good as the real thing for him. i applaud your efforts, most only realize what they had when it's gone.... do the best to make some memories while you still can.

i have a wilderness ride 135 and have a 30lb minn kota. i actually already figured out a way to semi-permanently rig up a mount so i kind of have that solved. i need to figure out the re-wiring situation for a new control knob that i can operate from the seat (removing the head on the motor and re-wire something new). i'm just starting out and looking for some blueprints to get me going. the only part i'm really stuck on is how to raise/lower the motor from the seat, but i did see a youtube video that may have answered that for me.

have you been under a rock since 9/11/01? get off the local news website and go read up on the responders to the twin towers and how many have contracted cancer and ultimately died. this is nothing new.

if you look at who they market to, the easy answer is that kids/preteens/teens drink them. i just don't understand how we limit/restrict/prohibit the use of nearly every drug on the planet EXCEPT caffeine... how is that?

yes it works very well in moderate/heavy cover. i used to trim the weed guards, but do not anymore and notice no difference in hookups. i do however notice less snags when leaving the weedguard intact.

thats the reason i like it. shows you the mental game those guys play as well as just trying to catch fish. all anglers were speculating on what the other guys were doing, and a lot of them were dead on. i just think it plays out a lot more like reality and not so much like "reality tv".

i remember as a kid my dad would be watching fishing shows on saturday or sundays and always on regular cable tv. shows like MLF will bring it back. it's not an hour of sponsor filled conversation with the occasional shot of someone landing a fish like some other tournaments on tv.

completely agree. i think it's a big difference with watching 6 anglers really have to struggle to find fish. in flw or bass they have 50 or so anglers to pick from so any given tournament they can follow about 10 guys that are really catching fish.... my favorite part is watching what they all start the day with. it's cool to see some start with a buzzbait, pencil style bait, crankbait and even AMart starts off with a dropshot at times (then proceeds to complain about how much he hates fishing a drop shot). i enjoy the comments from all the anglers too and you can see some of them really get their heads messed up paying attention to the score tracker. i watched one or two and then immediately had it in the rotation on my DVR. only downside is the pretty lame and cheesy commentary from the "hosts" or whatever you call them. they could cut all that out and not miss a beat on the show.

those clips are for like badges or lanyards. we buy them in big bags of like 500 at my workplace, i think they come from staples.... should be able to pick some up at any office supplies store.

regardless of how you fish it, looks like a nice quality siebert jig from what i can tell. agree with the above though on that style being well suited for tight cover situations. and that hook is nearly impossible for them to shake it seems.

sorry you didn't get on any good bites man, but that's been fishing for me lately.... i went out on saturday to a new place i found just south of the city. like you said, it was an awesome day on the water in my kayak! marked some bait, marked some fish, but couldn't get much commitment. i landed one from about 8 feet of water on a crankbait, lost another on same crankbait in about 8 feet of water. also had a nice thump on the jig in about 12 feet of water, but missed the fish altogether. the one fish i did catch did not put up a fight of any kind, felt like reeling a stick back in. nice day out though. if you're back around in warmer weather i think you'd enjoy the fish you could catch down here! good luck back in Indiana.
