  1. I don't have a need for s shallow spool. It casts pretty light stuff as it is now. With #6 mono I have hit my knot a few times already. I had to put #15 braid on so I could get the extra capacity. Was tossing a 1/16 tungsten weight with a trick worm yesterday and was impressed with the distance.
  2. I have two, along with some higher end Daiwas. It get used just as much and maybe a tad more.
  3. The $50 part might be a little tough but it's not impossible. Winter is coming and people will be selling stuff to make room for new purchases. Also check Ebay a lot, through winter. 4. Sunline sniper fc. As you can see, everyone has their preference. #10-12 yozuri is a great all around line for a baitcaster.
  5. #80 is for really heavy cover. Match your line to the conditions you'll be using it in. #40 is a very common size to use.
  6. The same ones I'd take to fish locally.
  7. Yes it is. My time with it is limited so far. Only had it out twice. I think I caught 4 smallies on it that day. So far I like it. Was a good purchase.
  8. They are just suggestions. I throw everything on my 723. A Dobyns 734 lists all types of things to throw. Buzzbaits, spinnerbaits, jigs, worms, ect. If there wasn't anything on it,what would you throw with it? The answer is whatever you want to.
  9. Just wanna say how awesome this reel is. Basically spool it casting a 4.7 gram jig using #6 yozuri. It's smooth as silk and light too. Spooling some #15 pp tomorrow to get a little extra line on it. Pointless I know but oh well.
  10. There's a few *** ml online right now. Even a used one for an okay price.
  11. I only needed about 6 to shim 3 reels but extra's are always good. I found these online for 10 cents each. Discontinued or something like that. I figured grab up a few but didn't know it was 2 per pack.
  12. Once the spool is engaged after the cast, the tws turns into a normal line guide. Your line isn't moving any more than with another reel imo.
  13. Well you shouldn't of said that haha
  14. I have two 723's and a I also have a max 703. Both mh power powell rods. The endurance series is definitely better than the Max. Better blank and smaller guides. I'd take the endurance 10/10 times. I'm assuming the max 7'3 is a heavy and if so, it's a bit stiff for 1/4oz. I have an endurance 714 too. It gets 1/2oz up duties and the 723's gets 1/8-1/2oz. Those are my all around rounds and they handle anything perfectly up to 1/2oz. The max has been given moving bait duty. Not that the max isn't a good rod but for $20 more it's an easy choice. They're clearancing out both series for the new max 3d. Which I'm actually kinda sad about because I love the endurance series. Plus the baby puke green of the Max isn't my cup of tea.
  15. Carbontex drag washers, pxr line guide, and worm gear upgrade for my px68l
  16. I think I'm good for a long time on washers/shims. Didn't know they were 2 per pack haha.
  17. Free spool means nothing really. Just a catchy gimmick per say. Flushing the stock bearings is more than adequate. Anything over abec 5 is useless. It does help the spool start up faster which is good for light baits and pitching. Rods also play a big role. Under or overloaded can affect distance. I don't know the specs on your med rod but 1/2 and 5/8 would be suited for a mh rod. A deep cleaning from DVT would make a big difference in the reel. None of this is better than experience though. Adjust your settings and practice.
  18. I've always made my leader connections like the way it's shown in the Italian video. 5-8 wraps for 30-65 braid and 10-12 for 10-20 braid. Trim the tags close and add a drop of super glue.
  19. Water aisle at walmart
  20. Quick Google search or on here even, will bring up plenty to read. It casts fine but holds too much line for me.
  21. Just got a recon 2 7'1 ml for my px68. Super light and handled some okay smallies last week. I was leery of buying a $170 rod sight unseen but in ml your options are pretty limited. Happy with the purchase though.
