Never spent much time in Eugene...spent a lot of time in Astoria and Seaside even though lived in valley. Just loved all the different fishing opportunities.

Never have got tired of fishing. I may have to change what I chase as far as bass, panfish or whatever just for a different view....but love being on the water no having to listen to B.S.

Met my sweetheart of fourty plus years dragging the gut in Seaside, Oregon. She lived in Brightwood and I lived in Hillsboro. Took an hour to get to her place for a date but was worth it. Two awesome kids and she lets me fish.

In prayers....be carefull. Have missed the fishing this year too...but oh so special when you get to go again.

Used to fish the mighty Columbia in wind and loved it. Would launch boat on upper river around Dalles and idle down river with bow up for couple miles trying not to get wet and then pull into bank and float back with waves braking at times over back of boat. Would throw jigs and cranks in the heavy wind and it was awesome in summer. Especially since hardly anyone else would be out. Those smallies crushed in that weather.

Was on lake yesterday in boat for first time since operation first of Feb. Was soooo awesome. Sixty degree day but still had sweatshirt on due to fact have lost so much weight. Water temp was around fifty. Me and friend got about six keeps up to about three pounds....it felt soooo goood. Praise the Lord

I too believe you get what you pay for up to a limit. When I pay that little extra I'm paying for lightness and balance wether it be a rod or reel. I'm also paying for reliability...I've got older shimanos and Diawa's that still perform flawlessly and their over ten years old. Not pretty but smooth as a babys butt in performance. I also pay extra for line too. I don't want that blue stuff that sits under the walmart or K-mart lights for twenty years for a $1.29 for 500 yards. It's all in what we want out of the sport and can afford to spend. Tight Lines

Cashed a lot of checks out west on the Columbia River with a football jig, tube, and a 3" Yum dinger on a drop shot. One of those was alwas money.

The joy of anticipation. I find as I get older it's easier to sleep the night before. I just visualize where I'm fishing on the lake. One of my favorite parts is getting tackle ready the day before and visualizing what will work. But now ... much more patient.

What I don't mind: Not getting to fish enough. Wind has been my friend fishing...just have to approach things different. I guess if I had to pick the bad part of fishing it would be the rude summertime boaters and all their attributes. Sometimes it just amazes me how long they can hold their breath when their head is up their @!#$. Tight Lines

Have had a weakness for hardbaits in the past and I have tons of em both in boat and at home. I usually have two rods with duoloc's on them so I can change often till I find what feels good and seems to be catching. Sometimes when the stars are right I load an empty plano with about ten lures to try for the day...sometimes more. I also put all used lures for the day in that box so that I can set it out to dry easier and help prevent rusty hooks. Some lures just seem to Hunt better than others. Tight Lines

When we had that last big cold front before surgery I took the boat out with a friend and went to put my knee on the seat. Instint spider cracks and sadness. So had to do some searching but found some vinel in a tube and cleaned and warmed up seat and applied and it came out awesome and appears tuff. I did some pricing on seats and decided 8 bucks was better than hundreds!! I know boat is ten years old but man seats are expensive. I've done patching before .... it ain't pretty but can use money for other stuff. Tight Lines

Been with mine fourty years and I hope good Lord willing another fourty. She doesn't fish much but we golf together.

Only one more surgery....and more and more days on water.

I too like the double uni. I use five wraps on braid side and four on fluro side. Do it slow and keep wet and it's awesome.

Lighter wire gives ya better vibration I believe. They make awesome baits.

Well I just enjoy going threw all tackle stores. I've been around long enough and have been blessed to own quite a bit of tackle so I just enjoy seeing whats out there. The BBS here in east tenn to me seems to be pretty decent and as far as telemarketers I just stay away or say no quickly. But I do love looking at tackle and do buy some online also but my favorite way to purchase is having in the hand when I leave a store. Tight Lines

I won my very first tourney a "BASS Master Western Divisional many years ago on the California Delta. I had the second slowest boat in the tourney and would watch all the boats pass us on their way to their honey holes. My goal was to learn water close to ramp for more fishing time and less stress. Doesn't always work....but still have no complaints and I now have a much faster boat.

I too have fished tourneys for a number of years and have had many ideas. Now for me to be more flexible I go with the attitude of one fish at a time. If I prefished and mother nature throws a 180 I'll just try and smile. For the first hour I'll fish what I want and how but if this is resulting in a goose egg I may sit back, eat a peanut butter cracker and think of plan "B" or "C". After all I do have a floating rod locker and tackle box with me so I should hopefully be able to put something together. Hopefully P.S. If you see just two rods on my deck, in the back of my mind I have a solid finger crossing gameplan.
