In Need Of Thoughts And Prayers

My Dad passed away Friday afternoon after a nearly a year long battle with leukemia.  My Mom passed in 2005, so they are together now.  He would have been 84 yo in July.  My Dad was my best friend and fishing partner for many years.  He was the reason that I started fishing, and he was the one that got me back into fishing 11 years ago.  It's going to be hard getting back out on the water without him, but I know that is what he would have wanted.

Bankbater, so sorry to read about the passing of your dad.  I know it is a tough time for you and the family.

All the best to you and the family to get through this time. It may be a challenge but you will get through it.

The baton in your family has been passed from your dad to you. You are the top guy and family members will start to look up to you in place of your dad.

Take care.

My sincere condolences, be thankful he lived 84 years as many don't make it that far.

I am sorry for your loss. I am not sure you ever get over the loss of a loved one, but the pain will ease and it is the good memories that will most often come to mind. I will pray for you and yours. May God bless you in this difficult time.

Very sorry to hear about your Dad. Prayers sent to help you and your family remain strong through a tough time.

Sorry for your loss. It sounds that you are as thankful as I am that my father instilled a passion for the outdoors in me.  Thank goodness for great dads!  God Bless.

Prayers sent. I'm so very sorry to read this. He is at peace now, though. That may not ease your pain right now but try to keep this in mind.

Sorry for your loss. You'll be kept in thoughts and prayers, but don't let this hamper you from getting out on the water. Your dad is still with you and he'll be there with you on the water too even if your fishing by yourself.

Sorry to hear of your loss.  I'm sure he will be with you each time you go fishing in the memories and experiences the two of you enjoyed together.  Being a father I cherish each day I fish with my son and enjoy seeing the passion he has as well.  Sounds like you had a great father as well as a great fishing partner.  God bless you and your family.
