Had the opportunity to go to Ft. Meyers Florida with my family for a week. Gosh I love watching the storms going across the ocean and the sunsets. Not to mention fishing most every morning and evening off the beach. Didn't catch a ton but did enjoy the floor shows of dolphin jumping and schools of bait fish getting attacked. Saw a young lady and her boyfriend catch a very large tarpon off the beach the last evening and that was amazing. Should I get to go again that's going to be on my list of things to try. Love Florida in the summer....less people. Grand kids loved it too.

Been married 44 years....I'm blessed....got a keeper. Lucky...or still on Gods list to stay around awhile. Twice this week I've had other vehicles come across the line and almost take me out...Phew!!!!!

I too enjoy this site a-lot. Other sites (un-named) have bashed this site for being too strict!!! Bo....Hooo......these other sites have not a stone to stand on......a lot of un fishing related garbage. (there...I said it without saying what I was really thinking) Great Job....BassResource

I know this is too lake but we used to use burlap gunny sacks back in the ol days. Just keep them wet. The evaporation helps keep the fish cool. Would clean the fish first though. Used this for salmon/steelhead and jetty fish back in Oregon. P.S. Sometimes it's nice to eat your own fish as you know how fresh they are and how they are taken care of.

Been using the Gami's but didn't like the plastic thing slipping down the hook...wasn't going to throw away so just cut it off with a knife and use the plain hook...works just fine.....will look into the Jungles.

Used bait many many years ago....just not for me. To much mess. Anyone ever leave a container of worms in the trunk of a car for a few days and "smell" the reward!!! Anyway...good luck. Have had some great days on a three inch weightless senko style bait weightless on light line....BUT....not my favorite presentation.

Two things....you can make them from old spinnerbaits if you want....you just cut and bend the wire up front...can either add the blade then or wait and do it with a good split ring...you can look up the blades and get them at a number of places....haven't had my coffee yet but jans net craft...I believe is where I found some of the blades. There's another outfit too that sells tons of stuff and I'm drawing a blank right now...oh....Barlows I believe it is.... Next is get a spinnerbait mold of your choice...pour the heads and repeat above.

Have used scent for years and have tried quite a few. Hands down it's been Smelly Jelly in the paste. Many times it doesn't seem to make a difference other than going through weeds better. But also, many times I have seen where you cast to a spot and get a "tick"....reel bank in...put on some Jelly and cast back and you get one to hold on. ......guess I've spent too much time on the water..... Everyone has covered it pretty well....myself...fishing being a challenge and figuring out the fish sometime in the day is very rewarding...those banner days are awesome too. Buying a new lure and catching some fish is cool and rewarding as is a technique that you haven't done in awhile. Moving out here from Oregon I have done several things different that were not so good back there...but I find to living in Knoxville with so many lakes close that one lake likes this color worm better or that kind of crankbait in a certain color seems to get more bites. Wish sometimes I would have moved here sooner but all is well... I know I'll get some shaking heads here but being out when a front moves through and experiencing the bite before, during, and after is an experience. Fishing in the winter is one of my favorite times too.....amazing .... just amazing how well the fish bite. Tight Lines

More tackle and rods and reels come with time. Just by joining a club you are going to have an outlay of funds just to fish their tourneys. I assume your joining to learn so take what you have and enjoy the experience and gain knowledge from the others you get to fish with. Enjoy and Tight Lines

This all made me smile a bit as I've lived on the west coast and now the east coast. As mentioned above season's do change the lures and the presentations quite a bit although we all have a favorite we prefer throwing and hope that it works. One bait that I "rarely" leave home without is a Dry Creek watermelon candy 3 1/2 inch tube. Hands down tubes have done more for me than almost any other bait other than maybe a small jig back home. Now....darn it...thanks to a certain person who did a video on this bait on this site I'm becoming addicted to the Rage bug!!! My tube rod is right beside it but dang....I'm liking this bait too. If I'm totally honest...I love figuring out what their biting and catching them on chatters, jerks, cranks, whacky's, dropshots, swimbaits and the list goes on. I'm a bass fisherman and a tackle junkie. But...the tube and the now bug...are staples. Tight lines

We figured yesterday the day before the Forth would be a good day to go fishing as maybe more people would be working and my son had the whole day to fish. (Been a Looooonnnng time) Anyway .... he wanted to go on an adventure so we went down to Watts Bar about a half hour from the house and got there a little before 7:00. Morning was sunny and beautiful. There was hardly anyone on the water...it was like a ghost town. Fished for a few hours and caught some fish...nothing huge but some nice keepers and some dinks. Headed further down lake from Kingston a few miles and things got better. My son cranked up one about five on a shallow crank and was all smiles....five minutes later I got one over six...maybe close to seven flipping. It was awesome....but that's all that came from that bank....wait....I caught a gar almost five feet long fishing this bank too....was crazy. Saw a big rain storm coming and asked my son...1. Do you want to run for it? 2. Fish through it. 3. Or hide under a dock? We chose to hide for a half hour. Was a good storm....what people that finally came to lake left in a hurry!! Seemed like we could catch fish on everything except fishing deep!? (need to learn lake better) Almost before pulling out I got a big blue over 25# on a chatterbait....wow...wow...they are so strong...was awesome. Was a good day...almost eleven hours with my son and fish caught. Praise God.
