Kind of like listening to a radio in a boat....i do like music but natures noises are much better and sometimes its hard to concentrate with all that's going on with "Mother Nature". Guess I'm getting old.......er.

Actually for me I just like the peace and quiet and I can concentrate better.
  4. Interesting day....tons of hunters on way to lake....cold morning....frost...I think I heard one shot all day. Also from what I hear fishing was way off compared to what it had been earlier in the week. It too four fish for nine pds for first ... second was five and change... third was 2..11. And then their was my HOG of 1.4 which tied for forth!!! Everyone else blanked. Beautiful day though...heard of fish chasing up real shallow but not much. Anyway...until next time....thanks again
  5. Thanks for the well wishes....taking care of making lunch....having a cup of tea....shower and it's off to the lake for a report to follow.
  6. Shallow warms first....think of a two glasses of water sitting in the sun. One with a inch of water and the other half full. Guess which one warms first! Anyway...not all fish go shallow but some fish are shallow all year. Just gotta find em. Good luck
  7. Well here it is again Friday and I was hoping to get out Friday but as some of you know my garage door spring busted. Well the first of the week it gets fixed...well then I catch this dandy of a cold and along with working half a day I'm beat. Plan on going wed.....well...9:00 in morning curled on floor with tremendous stomach pains. Am not going to doctor...gotta wait. Wake up after sweating my guts out and shaking like a leaf three hours later. Feel ok. So now it's Friday and I decided to take wife golfing (she loves golfing and after 43 years I like making her happy) (Karma may work here!?) I was going fishing but the last clubber is Saturday. Heading into it kind of blind....(Norris) Haven't been up there in months but *&^!$....don't care. I have loaded the boat with so much tackle it's hilarious. I just want to go fishing and catch some fish. Do need to do well as far as points go but hey.....we will see whats in my Gods plans. Tight Lines everyone.
  8. It boils down to never enough. From March through October I fish a couple wildcats a week and clubbers on Saturday twice a month. Plus I try and get out a few more in between. But it seems I'm always spacing out thinking of being on the water and what to use. Probably do to the fact that a short time ago I was laid up for some time and couldn't do anything....so I am so thankful to be out there now. Tight Lines
  9. Well, it's official...no Norris for me today either. They can't come till next week for the garage. Oh well....did get the gutters cleaned along other stuff. Hope work schedule lets me get out this week before the clubber up at Norris sat. Tight Lines
  10. My son brought up a good point yesterday on how it seems that our Thanksgiving holiday isn't so quite as messed up as Christmas. People and Christmas seem to really have changed with all the buying and worrying about this and that and if they have time they might even remember the reason for the season. I know this may be exagerated in some peoples eyes but I feel more relaxed at Thanksgiving and having family over to eat, BS, play with the kids and just relax for the most part. Don't get me wrong ....Love Christmas and the reason for the season....but I also love him on Thanksgiving and the other 363 days of the year. Tight Lines and Happy Holidays
  11. $#@!...as the saying goes "sometimes the best laid plans go amuck" Right after dinner yesterday wife heard a noise in the garage. Low and behold the big spring on the garage door broke!! Soooo hoping to get that fixed to day so I can get the boat out. The good Lord had other plans for me...all good.
  12. Thank you....and may you all be blessed this Holiday season. Tight Lines and may God Bless
  13. I get to go fishing with my son who doesn't get out to much due to life, work, kids, sports and (he loves huntin) I will be blessed. Had to work the last few days at the grocery store....Oh My Gosh....busy. Tight Lines all....lets all post some reports, lies or New Years resolutions to our lies about our fishing!!
  14. Well....how many of you are going to hit the water on Black Friday. It's a day I usually look forward to hitting the water. I believe this year I'll head to Norris and see if any smallies are hungry. Should be pretty quiet with most out shopping!!!!
  15. Even though I have loved my parents I tried to do with my kids a lot more than how we were raised. (without going into detail) In my house...yes's were yes and no....No. For instance going into a store...if they acted up it was one warning....second correction we quietly left store and went home. Not to much for putting up with BS. Also took kids more places and did more camping, fishing, and participating in their activities. They came out awesome...Praise God. Was fortunate,
  16. Even though your using very stout tackle there are always variables. Like fish not hooked well and just tearing a lip off or something like that. You do have the advantage though....ya see the pro's winch em in all the time. I prefer a bit lighter stuff and enjoy the ride as you say....seem to get more bites too. Good luck. P.S. No fun breaking that stuff....no fun
  17. It's hard to beat being on the water when the sun rises or the dawn breaks and watching nature wake up even though the fish may not be tearing into your baits....and later watching things calm down as the sun sets is another goodie. Now ... inbetween times are also a gift from above sooooo.....I guess I like fishing all day. You never know but when that joy at the end of the line will happen. Today is a gift...Tomorrow is an adventure.
  18. Dry here too. But I'm sure the wet stuff is coming. Am going to enjoy fishing in shorts for a few more days and even some dry golf with the wife. When the rain comes it'll be nice.
  19. Phew!!! Been to the South West and had a nose bleed everyday...gosh did I dry out...never did get used to it. Now the Deep South East....well...not sure if I could handle it...Tennessee is almost perfect.
  20. Gosh I love living out here. In talking with my friends back home in Oregon it's back to it's old self and raining most every day and pretty cold. Now I realize we are a bit short on the wet stuff here and have been for awhile but I do like this 70 degree fall fishing weather for sure. And my wife loves golfing in it too. I'm sure the cold is coming and the wet but this is nice. Tight Lines all
  21. Due to life's bumps I can no longer raise a glass for ya. But I can identify with "all of your loses" so I will lift up a prayer for you and everyone to have some peace and fond memories.
  22. Gosh...$%#@....trying to remember his name. Short guy who throws a pink worm 99.9% of the time. Usually in an aluminum boat. Dang...sorry....that's what age does to ya!! OH......got it....Freddy....can't even come close to remembering his partners name.
  23. It is a good bunch. Happy to be a part. Brian and Fred almost won Angler of Year this year. We were right behind them. Good Lord willing will give them all a run for their money next year. Tight Lines
