  1. I'm slightly optimistic on them doing better this time around.
  2. I've seen Dave Mercer speak two times now, usually try to make it when I can. This year I'll probably miss it though. He's great, informative and he's fun!
  3. I also like Karl Kalonka - Extreme Angler TV.
  4. I just spent 250 at BPS. I was going to get lures, line or a pq or 2. Instead I couldn't pass up Carbonlite clearance. So I nabbed two Carbonlites, 1 pq, 2 reel grips, and 2 storm arashi square 3.
  5. Thanks Hootie for the heads up. I went to BPS today and nabbed two of the older Carbonlites. They were on clearance. They even let me do the rod trade in. So I got them for 61.99 and 55.99. I got a 6'6" M/F and 7' MH/F. They are friggin light! I grabbed another PQ 7.1.1 ratio. Plan was to get 2 of the PQ's, but I passed that up when I saw the Carbonlites. The Clearance rods ruined my plan though. This year I didn't have a higher budget (saving for trip to Florida), I was going to buy more lures and miscellaneous stuff but couldn't pass it up. They were going fast. Just to also let everyone know, the old cranking stick was on clearance, KVD cranking rods, Daiwa Lexas and Extremes.
  6. I am picking up reel grips, stik-o's, Arashi crankbaits, spinnerbaits, Zoom Super Flukes (White Pearl), Zoom Trick Worms and still contemplating if I'm going to get a rod or reel or both.
  7. They did do a show together. http://www.factsoffishing.com/video/breaking-ice-for-bass-with-mark-zona-and-dave-mercer-facts-of-fishing-the-show/
  8. I would agree the PQ is a good reel and that line size is probably the issue. If that doesn't resolve the issue a good cleaning makes a big difference too.
  9. I would then add an external firewall, spam filter, proxy server and a VPN service.
  10. Both are the same IPT (26"). So it really doesn't matter.
  11. I usually spend 110 every three years. Don't go to other states or provinces.
  12. One coupon per rod or reel coupon. I dont think there is limit how many you trade in.
  13. Available on Feb 20 at afl gloomis superstore.
  14. They are a popular reel. I don't think anyone will know the quantities. I'm hitting up BPS on the first day of the sale tomorrow, but it won't be until end of the day though. I was planning on getting one, but I'm intrigued on the Carbonlite reel. We will see.
  15. Nice congrats man!
  16. XWhatever it is now for the PQ!
  17. Heck yeah they are sensitive, the previous generation ones are my favorite. I have 2 of them, I can't find much of them anymore. I really don't like the color of the latest Cumara, but I hear they are pretty sensitive. I eventually might give in and buy one of the red ones when they go on clearance.
  18. BEAUTIFUL. WOW. I. WANT. Nice setup there.
  19. I'd say - buy the best you can afford. If you can afford the FJ do it. I love my FJ1000. I don't have experience with the Saros though. Symetre yes and I love the older versions.
  20. Boy wish I only had a foot of snow on the ice. It's more like 5 feet now after that last blizzard. Congrats man on the catch! Lucky that you can go out and throw a line.
  21. Here is the price for us Canadian residents. 59.99! 20 bucks different even on sale. Crazy.
  22. I know what you mean, when I fished my first Cumara. I actually could feel everything and would set the hook on things I've never felt before. I even caught a scale of a fish swimming by. From that day I realized the importance of a sensitive rod on bottom contact rods.
