  1. I had that happen to me once too. Bummer, but I don't think there is anything else you could have done. I was always brought up to believe that if you kill a fish you should eat it. But you didn't have the option. Don't beat yourself up.
  2. If you have time to go fishing GO! Who cares as long as it isn't snowing! Getting skunked is better than sitting at work like me. Besides it sound like good weather. Have fun. ;D
  3. Snagging and fishing a private lake? Sorry about the finger, but it sounds like you had it coming. Too many pike in the waters I fish not to have pliers. I actually have an old set tied inside my boat in case I forget my good ones.
  4. I have always fished slow because until last week I never had a trolling motor. But I think I cover spots a lot better than I would if I was more mobile.
  5. That's probably the most sensible way to handle the situation. I am going to try this. But... I will still post his picture here and complain about him.
  6. Many good points here so far. Yes use compound exercises because they stimulate the natural release of testosterone which in turn =muscle= weight. Good form will produce better gains than poor form with more weight. Get calories soon after your workout (within 45 min) this is the time your muscles are most straved for nutrients. Eat many small meals as opposed to 3 big ones. Your body will digest the food more completely and also keep your metabolism high, naturally. Eat lean protien, lots of fruits and veggies. (Tuna is awesome because its cheap and only 90 calories per can and packed with protien) Figure out you BMR and TMR so you know how many calories you need to be consuming. Do that here. http://www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-calculator/ Dedication to your diet, gym time, and research will get you where you want to be. Does your school have a powerlifting team? Might be something to consider joining. I highly reccomend staying away from supplements. They are not evaluate by the FDA for safety. (remember Ephedra?) I know they are appealing and some may work, but the long term effects are not yet know for many of these supplements. You goals are not going to be found in a bottlle or pill. I am a strength and conditioning teacher and former pro athlete. If I can be of anyhelp PM me.
  7. I agree Bear Grylls is INTENSE!! Man vs. Wild is amazing.
  8. I am taking his picture next time, Great idea Ed.
  9. Bird hunting and golfing.
  10. I have to vent. My dad and I were fishing on my home waters this weekend. We had been anchored on a flat for a good 30 minutes when another boat make a run by us to the opposite end of the shore line we were fishing. No problem. So they are a good 500 yards away, no problem. Well they get closer, and closer finally they actually trolled right between my boat and the shoreline we were casting to which was 15 yards away. And then he has the balls to sit there and act like nothing is wrong! "How's it going? Having any luck?" I was fuming, and then I noticed this was the same jerk who came into a small cove with me last year and actually bumped my boat with his he was so close. If my dad wasn't with me I may have come completely unglued. WE WERE ANCHORED!!! Its not like we just appeared out of no where. I can't believe it was the same person. This guy ticks me off. I should have taken his picture for you like EdBassmaster did with the video of the jerk who started fishing next to him.
  11. Holy cow is right! That's 2 muskies in the last week for you isn't it? Man what a fish.

    What a pig! Congrats
  13. Sounds like a question for Maltese Falcon to me.
  14. This stuff is scray and I fear it will only get worse as well. I blame a far too liberal society/media where everything is OK and taboo things are just perfect for sweeps week. I am a high school teacher and we had 4 kids cruise into the parking lot this fall with a shotgun and ammo in the trunk of their car and a dozen roses which they were going to throw on every body as their calling card. Luckily our students here tipped off the admin. and the cops were waiting for them. One of the Traverse City schools just had a kid put in the loony bin because he was planning an attack and they found guns in his room at home. And we just had our second lock down drill of the year yesterday.

  16. Come on seriously catching bass was annoying? What a great day!!
  17. Bagley Small Fry (they make 2 bream colors and crappie patterns) They make them 0-1ft, 0-4ft, Awesome baits. Cabelas has them for $6, but I found mine in a sale bin at BPS for $2.50. http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/links/link.jsp?id=0037595113575a&type=product&cmCat=search&returnPage=search-results1.jsp&QueryText=bagley+small+fry&N=4887&Ntk=Products&Ntx=mode+matchall&Nty=1&Ntt=bagley+small+fry&noImage=0
  18. Awesome finish to the Tigers game last night!!! Craig Monroe and Magglio Ordonez both made diving catches to end the game!!! Bummer we don't have Zumaya for 2 months but we'll be just fine. And... Sheffield is getting HOT!!! ;D
  19. I caught my first miskie last summer while bass fishing also, what a thrill! Great job.
  20. Thanks Triton21. Am I reading the numbers right from the website above? It looks to me like the flow is always the same for the most part with no big increases?
  21. Can the water flow data from the dam on my lake help me in any way? The lake I fish is located above the dam. I have heard a lot about fishing below a dam and the flow rate helping position fish, but is there any advantage when fishing above the dam? Here is the link to the data from my local lake. http://waterdata.usgs.gov/mi/nwis/uv?04136500
  22. I have to agree with Muddy. Signing Clemens to buy the world series has undoubtedly angered the baseball "gods" and has hexed the whole thing for the yankees. The world series can be bought as the Marlins showed but you don't do it by buying a 45 year old arm. That aside I do believe that Clemens can and will be productive, but it won't be the difference maker come playoff time. He has too much experience to not do well even if he's not throwing 95 plus he's still got good stuff and too much knowledge not to do well (if his body holds up). Plus with a lot of the young arms they have now he will be a good mentor. Look at what Kenny Rogers did for the Tiger's pitching staff last year.
  23. Good question. I am about to deck the front of my boat as well. Keep us posted on what you decide and how much it cost (I am short on cash too)
