Tournament Slumps
We all have slumps. I just go into it with the attitude of I am going to catch fish. If they won't "win" a tournament, atleast I am bringing fish to the scale. Every bite may be the one your waiting for. Just keep doing a productive pattern and let the cards fall where they may. Even the best in the world don't win everything but the gates in every tournament.

Help Me Think About This.
I use a drop shot a lot on a heavy bell sinker (+/- 1/2 oz)The heavy weight enanbles me to put quite a bit of pressure on it. I shake the bait like crazy and never loose contact with the bottom. I pitch this on a spinning rig when fishing docks. Wherever I place the weight I know the bait will be right behind it. I am fishing a evening tourney tonight and our fish are spawning. This is the exact rig I will be using with a lizard about 6" above the weight. It might be a rig that will work well for you.

Soft Jerkbaits - Flukes
Being a soft plastic they will hold it a long time! I generally put just a bit of pressure on my rod and feel. If I can feel em swimming with it then I to a sweep hookset the opposite direction they are heading. Same way I hookset on a senko. I go with 4/0 or 5/0 gamy T rigged with hook laying flat exposed on the back of the bait anywhere but in moss or grass.

Best Used Ranger
Honestly I couldn't tell you when the model went out but you could call Ranger they'd tell you. The nice thing is technical support. I called them for a schematic on my boat and it was in my inbox instantly. I personally have wanted a Ranger since I was 8 years old. My boat isn't just a boat, it's much more then that. I take really good care of it. However to me it is a tool if I scratch it or get it dirty I don't freak out. I am constantly in it. If it would fit in my bedroom I would sleep in it I think. Plus I am a single guy in the dating world. You wanna seal the deal on a girl... Take her for a ride in a Ranger. It has blown the pants off more then one of 'em. LOL!!

Organizing Soft Plastics For Easy Access?
Do a youtube search for Aaron martin soft bait organization. I use his system. Clear boxes with cable ties on one end of the lid so it flips... seperating each catagory. I also have a extra/spare box with it all mixed in together. I duct tape the bottom of ziplock sandwich bags then put the baits in I write specifics if I don't know what it is on the ductape. I have clip strips i built out of aluminum angle iron and badge clips. I installed these under the lids on my boats, to keep the ahold of the baits I use most often handy. Obviously this changes thru out the season.

Crawfish Crankbaits?
I fished a Bomber square bill in crawdad/chat belly all weekend. I would catch em with it grinding the bottom and they would also chase it right to the boat. I caught my two biggest fish with 8 feet of line out no where near the bottom. Purely reaction strikes.

Best Used Ranger
I have a 92 Ranger 482v that is in very good shape. Hydralic jack plate, rebuilt 150 merc, hotfoot. I can push it to about 65-66 and it rides great. I agree a paid for boat is very very nice. There are nicer ones but mine catches fish just the same. It's amazing what some of the old 350 series boats are STILL going for $6-10,000!My advice is buy a decent boat mid 90's and spend the rest of your money on upgrade electronics and set it up the way you want to fish.

Can It Be Too Hot For Fish To Be Active??
I grew up on Table Rock.Where at times water temp would touch 90 degrees. During those times we would find shad off main lake points and fish a jigging spoon.Sometimes supended over 60 feet of water. Most of us locals wouldn't fish the days. We'd go at night...armed with big black spinnerbaits with Thumper Copper Colorado blades.

Stupid Question About Bassmasters
Yes they cannot get out of the boat to goto the woods. There is always a marshall with them. I had a grumbler come on one time on Bull Shoals I had to just hang it over the side and let er rip.

Rod Box Pvc Pipe...
I am thinking I need to build some sort of organization to my rod box. I usually carry 10-12 rods. I would carry less if it meant I didn't have to deal with tangling all the time. I thought about rod socks but I think I would be better off with something that the rod slid down. Has anyone ever done this? if so how long and what diameter of pipe? I was thinking 1"? Thanks!

Best Conditions For Topwater
Years ago i would fish a white Buzzbait all day long. I'd catch as many fish at high noon as anytime. I have since switched to buzzbaits till 9 then hit the docks. My favorite is flat water right after daylight.

Rage Craw On A Shaky Head Jig
I don't fish them on a shakey head but I do fish them quite a bit on a gitzit head. It seems that when they touch and tip over on the side is when the bass picks them up. I got the idea when I stnned a live craw and he rolled over.

I Hate That Guy
We have a guy in our club like that. Big new triton. The best of everything. Practices with his trophy wife in the boat ( which doesn't bother me... she is HOT!) But heres come this dude in a ratty old Ranger that screams by him on the take off. Then cleans his clock every time we get to the scales. You can tell our freindship is forced...I love every second of our relationship.
