  1. I had both reels and the Kage is way smoother. I paid $180 for the Kage and $150 for the Tatula LT. Is the Kage worth $30 more than the Tatula? In my opinion, absolutely.
  2. I wonder if it’s for everything on just selected items? I cant’t remember the Spring sale last year but I think it was due to Covid.
  3. So if I am understanding it correctly, this knot requires you to cut the length of the leader prior to tying the knot?
  4. I bought couple for a friend and he caught 7 his first time using it. They were choking it. I used the 1 oz size for the first time later that day and it got slammed. One of the hardest hits I ever felt. They definitely work.
  5. I’m just getting into the game and exclusively fish from the bank at our ponds and lake. Not trying to get too crazy but have seen friends have success so wanted to try it out. My friend caught a 2lb smallie and had another friend lose a 6lb+ both on a 168. I was sold.
  6. Sweet combos. Put those new reels to work!
  7. Thank you everyone for the info and replies. I ended up going with the Tatula 200 for the swimbait rod ....but also purchased two 150’s for other rods. We’ll see how they do!
  8. I am also new to glides and just got in the Irod Genesis 3 Swimbait Jr today, and looks and feels amazing. It’s surprising light for a swimbait rod. I was expecting a broomstick. Rated 1-4oz. We’ll see how it fishes but I am extremely happy with my choice.
  9. If you keep your leader the same length as your rod, your leader knot will always be on the outside of your reel.
  10. This is the size/lb reference for the Decoy snaps.
  11. What size would you use for like the 168s? What determines what size you use?
  12. What sizes do you guys like? And you are referring to the Decoy egg snaps correct?
  13. Appreciate the info! Since you have the rod I’m interested in, how do you like it? I know nothing about it but heard nothing but good things regarding irod. I know a lot of people have the Genesis 2 but it seems like the Genesis 3 just came out?
  14. Thinking about getting into the glide/swimbait world. Interested in throwing some Waver 120/168, Ima glide flukes etc. Interested in getting a Irod Genesis 3 Swimbait Jr and possibly a Tatula 150 or 200. I know that the 200 has a deeper spool. Will the glides/swimbaits benefit from the deeper spool? Should I go with the 150 or 200? Any info is appreciated. Thanks.
  15. I have a friend that just writes the depth range on the lure with a sharpie. Solved the same problem for him.
  16. I have read the research study you are referring to. To me I always considered green pumpkin a more of a brown color. According to the study, I would think that watermelon colors which are more of a true green would be more effective. I am aware that watermelon + pumpkin = green pumpkin but the only thing green about the final product is the name...haha.
  17. I could be wrong but I think it’s a tiny hex screw. @Bass_Fishing_Socal would know.
  18. This is what you do for your leader...tie your leader knot and reel up until your knot is at the tip of your rod. Then measure your leader using the length of your rod. So if your rod is 7’ your leader will be 7’. Your knot will never enter/exit out of your reel. Problem solved. Past 2 years I used a 6:3 Tatula SV for my cranks and no problems. I just purchased some Elites but haven’t used them yet.
  19. I use either the Megabass Okashira screwheads in 1/16 and 1/8 or Gamakatsu ball jigheads in 3/16th.
  20. I have it in some Zoom worms. To me it’s like a dark coffee color. I had a friend that would kill it with this color.

This. I use green mirror (copper base) for fishing and silver mirror (grey base) for driving.
  22. - Electric Shad - Rainbow Shad - Crystal shad
  23. Like everyone has said, they definitely fish lighter and it surprised me at first. I like the 1/2 oz and need to pick up some of the 3/4 one. For colors, Biwako Yoshinobori is a must for me. They are like hot wheels, collect them all!
  24. Love the Ned Bombs. I like to swim it. First time fishing off a kayak, I caught close to 10 off the same Ned Bomb.
