It is a matter of personal preference. IMO both MK and MG produce quality products. But for me, Motor Guide is the only option. I detest the Minn Kota foot control with a passion.

I haven't used mine all that much, but it (7'10) isn't all that heavy. Or at least I don't think so. I'm not a fan of anything Quantum, but the rod seems to be a quality stick. IMO you could do worse. It was the only rod that featured most of what I wanted (7'10 or longer, foam, split handle).

I would say that rod is a broomstick.

Saros hands down, bar none. The Supreme may be light and somewhat smooth, but it isn't the reel the Saros is.
