Two...light and dark.

TheBeast and I hit a new lake about 70 miles away Saturday night. Planned on staying till 3 or 4 AM, got blown off at midnight. A 30 MPH crosswind and a shallow ramp make for a lot of fun in the dark, especially since the town is too cheap to put up a $*$&*#($$%%&*#*# light. Bite was slow for me, producing only the usual dinks (I'm close to putting a Rocket Fishing Rod to my temple). TB got some nice ones though. That one was around 2 on a trick worm. Lake was nice, sparse cover though. Should have a ton of matted milfoil by August though. Lake was about 2' low, would have been nice to have some water in those cattails. NICE BEAVER! Had a little time to hit the river this evening. Jimzee gave me a packages of Imakatsu Hairy Hawgs last week and after T-Rig posted that photo of his catch on the HH, I decided to throw one myself. Got bit twice by small redeyes (once again, dinks...) on the first cast. Second cast got this one before the bait hit bottom. It's a great looking bait although the appendages are a bit weak. The 'claws' were gone after that one fish. Still a wicked looking bait though.

At least Abu has shirts available. The shirts are available in black or white. The sizes do run quite large. I got an XL that would have swallowed Andre the Giant.

Sure they're 17"? Are the wheels factory? 04 Tahoe 2WD came with 16" wheels. If they are 17", good luck finding a 'quality' tire for less than $150. There are 17" tires available for less, but in the long run a cheaper tire will cost you more $$$.

If you just want to catch fish, head up to Poor Valley and throw some plastics. Hard to find a bad spot on Cherokee.

If only he knew what was on the way.... WV has dinks too! And it only took me 45 minutes to find them. The BurleyDinkCurse at work! It seems the curse is only in effect if I'm on the boat from the beginning of the trip. I may not be able to catch them or even get them to bite. But I sure can land them. I've got more photos, but the camper must be cleaned out! I will say that Jimzee was a great host. He and Dawn are two of the nicest people you will ever meet. I even made a new friend! More to come later....

Don't cheap out. Buy something with quality glass. Nikon, Fuji or Canon. I've been using a Canon A720is for the last 6 months, could not be happier with it. Stick with an intermediate optical zoom (5-8x).
