  1. All this month, my most productive bait has been to drop shot robo worms and the new zoom zdrops. I've not had a bite on a crank. I've not had a bite on a spinner. It's poppers, buzzbaits and drop-shot for me lately.

Our water temp is still really warm. 75 last weekend. Hopefully, after all the rain we got this week it will have dropped alot. Fish are still deep here. Three weeks ago everything was below 20 ft. Two weeks ago everything was at 18-21 ft. Last weekend everything was at 9-15 and the top water bite was better. This weekend, I'm hoping it'll be on!
  3. My local tackle store does over the counter warranties on Shimano and Okuma.
  4. some people say cucumbers taste better pickled.
  5. My Pfleugers have all metal spare spools. They may not be bored out, but that's an aesthetics thing.
  6. My local tackle shop only sells their own branded jigs. They are great. Everything else I buy from big manufacturers. Storm, Zoom, Rapala, Reaction Innovations, Robo, Strike King, Berkley, Yamamoto, Yum....etc. My one branch out product is the D.O.A. hothead and chughead. I realize this isn't a new product for people who live near the coast. I've never seen them local though. http://www.doalures.com/store/index.cfm/category/62/doa-hot-heads.cfm Put that sucker on a fluke and it just adds another way to fish them. Flukes are amazing. I fish flukes with underspins more than anything, but second would probably be weightless with a hot head.

+1 on JJ's Magic. I only have chartreuse though. I could probably make a case for clear too.
  8. I threw the rig a bunch this weekend. I got some bumps with a crank on but none with the fluke. They weren't biting much of anything other than drop shot again this weekend.

ziplocks inside of a big mesh bag.
  10. I commented on this a few weeks ago. I don't like them. They aren't anywhere near as smooth as Shimano or Pflueger. Their finish looks and feels good, but it will chip and scuff. If you're looking at combos, the Pflueger president combo comes with a very nice Pure brand rod. I don't think anyone should buy any spinning reel under $100 but Pflueger. Over $100 I'm looking at Shimano and Pflueger again...any more expensive it's just Shimano.
  11. I don't see much difference between shallow shad raps and square bills, so yeah!
  12. I've had a Pro Qualifier for a while now. It's my heavy bait/swimbait set-up. I like it. Can cast it a mile pretty easily.
  13. ^^ what he said. The green frogs usually have white underbellies. Black and Frog colors (bronze or green spotted) for me.
  14. Tackle Warehouse and Bass Pro online. Dicks, Bass Pro, Local Store in person.
  15. Spook Jr. or Puppy or Pop-R. Can't decide.
  16. I have like 10-14 jigs. I rarely fish them.
  17. My wife has a Hobie Mirage Sport. It weights about 48 lbs w/o the seat, paddle, mirage drive. It's manageable for her to get on top of the SUV.
  18. It was before cell phones and digital cameras. I don't think I'll ever top either of those fish! Sucks. All downhill from there!
  19. They make a crappie version that's pretty nice too. The boats are nice enough! A thought too, some 9.9s can be converted to 15s by just doing a carb change.
  20. You can get a 17-18 foot aluminum with a 70hp-115hp for like 6 grand now. Late 90s early 00s too. Those boats are bomb proof too.
  21. 8'9" Bull Shark estimated at over 350. I was within ounces of the state record for a chain pickerel too 7 lb 2oz.
  22. Can't help it if shad gather in the shallows!
  23. Not really new but I've drop shotted a ton more this year than every before. New to me this year are BIG swimbaits and using chatterbaits. Not much luck with either :-(
  24. I throw Rattlin Raps. Baby Bass, Shad, Blue Shad, Red Craw, Silver, and Gold Silver. In the fall I throw all of those except red craw.
