  1. I use Reel Butter Grease and Oil and Lucas Oil Reel Oil. No complaints from them. I sand spool edges mostly. Sometimes, I'll polish drags too.
  2. I'll always tout it's effectiveness, but to me, a shallow shad rap always is a sure thing. It may not be the best lure every day, but you'll catch fish on it. I have a ton of confidence in Roboworms for bass now. If I'm wade fishing in a creek, a rebel craw and a gold panther martin are sure things too.
  3. I've used Trilene from 6-12lb loads. I've always thought it was a good quality line for an affordable price. I've also used Suffix Seige a fair amount. Both are good lines. Won't break the bank either.
  4. I can't comment I've always used my larger round 'casters to throw heavy, heavy baits.
  5. Dude, are you me? My wife disagrees, but I think your voice sounds like mine. Maybe, the voice I hear in my head at least. Thanks for the video. I think it's impressive how well reels can work with just a simple cleaning. With some fine sand paper, good grease and good oil and 10 minutes to spare, you can make nearly any stock reel perform better!
  6. If you want new, any Lew's! The Bass Pro Pro Qualifier can't be beaten for the price.
  7. I've been waiting on TW to release their Line Thru trout for months. +1 on the River2Sea recommendation. R2S and Savage Gear both make really good quality products. I hope to see them expand.
  8. Top 3, huh? I can't believe more people haven't said it before, but see my number 1. 1) Throw big baits! 2) Fish waters that routinely turn out large bass. 3) Be unique. Whether it's location, lures or presentation. Make your baits stand out.
  9. I got mine today. They are certainly big. Even bigger than some of the other glass rods I've been around. I got a 7' M and a 7' H. They are indeed heavy too! I don't think it's too horrible though. Especially the price. They look good. Really clean fit and finish. I may get rid of the Medium.
  10. I received the one's I ordered today too. I got a 7' M and a 7' H. They are indeed heavy! I don't think it's too horrible though. Especially the price. They look good. Great fit and finish. Hopefully the 7' H will balance well with a Abu 6500. I've been wanting one for trolling for rock fish and musky.
  11. They do! Green Pumpkin and Greet Meanie are my colors. First time I was out fishing them I drop shotted them in 9-10 foot of water going on points, gravel bars and cover. I caught a nice limit of spot in 2 hours. On one bush, I got a LMB, Crappie, and a Red Eye.
  12. I like Fenwick Smallmouth rods. They look great and handle very well too.
  13. I'd rather have a Pflueger than anything else under $150 bucks, that's just preference though. Above $100 dollars Shimano and Pflueger are more similar. Below, it's no option. You're paying more for the the name. Get a Pflueger Supreme. It's 1.5 ounces lighter and I'd argue it's made better. (the huge bail, the smoothness of the reel and it's more consistent drag) http://www.***.com/Pflueger_Supreme_MGX_Spinning_Reel/descpage-PSXS.html http://www.***.com/Fenwick_Elite_Tech_Smallmouth_Spinning_Rods/descpage-FETSS.html
  14. The Stratos multispecies boats are really nice. I like the 1760 DV. It's like 20,000 grand too! Triton has really nice offerings and so does Ranger. I see your in Texas. I saw this guy: http://www.boattrader.com/listing/2006-Ranger-190-Reata-371967 68 hours on that 200 and already equipped with really nice electronics. That boat is awesome as well. I've got two Aluminum boats and they aren't that great at going through rough water, I do like them towing and smaller motor sizes though! My smaller boat, a Grumman Cayuga is great for fishing in chop. It's not that great running in it. Too light.
  15. Have you priced a complete replacement? I had panels cloud in one of my vehicles, it was easiest to just replace the part.
  16. Stay away from Lew`s spinning gear. It's garbage. I only own Pflueger. There's a reason - they are awesome reels. You could get a pflueger purist or supreme and a Fenwick spinning rod and be set. Under $100 bucks for spinning reels you can't beat pflueger.
  17. That looks just like a Roboworm in bold bluegill. Roboworms salt and likeness to a handpour make them the best dropshot baits around right now. They are NOT durable though. They do catch fish. I only drop shot roboworms and z-drop zooms. I shakey head finesse and trick worms.
  18. I've yet to catch a fish on an Arashi...they look amazing in person and in the water. Just a matter of time.
  19. I wait for his wife to be around. She's much easier to deal with. I converted my small boat's motor from a 20 HP to a 30 HP (changing the carb/intake/lines) this year, he was nothing but a complete jerk when I was asking for advice. They just have loads of parts in stock and get stuff next day, otherwise I wouldn't use them.
  20. Depends on the water temperature and what the bait are doing! I got some of those Live Targets recently too. They are amazing looking.
  21. No, that's not lugs. They look like this: I just thought the frame was neat because they don't make the 'bull moose' style handlebars anymore. I dig em. This is the other bike I built this year:
  22. Thanks. It's my dad's old frame. He bought it new in the early 80s. Sand blasted and powder coated it. New decals and all new components. I've built a few in the past couple years. I dig single speed mountain bikes, so I made one.
  23. Based on the numbers, I'd probably be left with a crankbait or some plastic. I have more trick worms, finesse worms, flukes and crankbaits than anything.
  24. I'll be honest, the only BAD fluoro I've used is Vanish. I won't fish it anymore. All the Seaguar offering's are good. Red Label is cheap. I've been using Red Label 15LB as leader material for a while now. Works well!
  25. I built a bike that color! Sorry, I can't help past that.
