  1. I've got the same model, color and all. I like it better than my Ascend 128T. Enjoy it. ADD: This thread is VERY dangerous for my savings account and driveway space... especially this time of year when I can't fish because the fresh water around here is frozen.
  2. Took a ride by my local spots to check out conditions. St. Moritz, Blue Hills Res., and Houghton's are iced over. Ponkapog has some open water on the NE, but doesn't look like it's close enough to shore. Jacob's Pond has open water too, on the southern side by the farm. Shoreline brush prevents casting.
  3. Congrats on one good one. Lures bounce where I'm at and the recent warm weather's got the ice too thin to trust.
  4. What's your question?
  5. I own 50 & 100 mg7s. I agree with you that they're smooth as silk, but I have (14-1) Fishing Con**pt A & Cs that outcast my Cores, and are nearly as smooth. I also own a Diawa 1016 T3 Ballistic that out distances everything I own. Just my experience.
  6. I give you Medics a world of credit. My city uses private ambulance company for transports & ALS work. One of their Medics told me what they get paid. Far too little for Medic duties. Sorry for hijacking this thread. Stay safe.
  7. For real (?!?!?) the weather report over the next 10 days calls for high 40's & low 50's. I'm keeping an eye on my local ponds. Good luck to everyone else!
  8. Just got back from Orlando. Weather & time prevented me from fishing this time. I use a Diawa Ardito 7' M/F as my travel rod with a T3 Ballistic. It's a 3 piece that feels/fishes like a 1 piece. Diawa also makes it in a MH. My .02 - best of luck in FL.
  9. In MA EMTs don't administer IVs or do much with airways beyond an OPA. We leave that to you Medics. ?
  10. Welcome to Bassresource. Kind of the encyclopedia Britanica of bass fishing... BTW, pushing 50 is just getting started. I'm 49 and fished more the last two years than the previous 10. And that's while working two jobs and college tuition coming in two years...
  11. I like the super glue idea. It's not part of MA EMS protocol, but a bottle might just find its way into my tackle box.
  12. I'm a Firefighter/EMT. I keep a basic life support kit in my truck, which fits nicely in my kayaks' hatches. You can buy them at almost any public safety store or website.
  13. Doesn't look like the road to the Super Bowl goes through New England. Best of luck to the Broncos.
  14. I'll let you know when My flight from Orlando lands in Boston .... From what I've been told by family, we only got a few inches. Should be shovelled and on the couch by kick-off ?????
  15. Talk about the 'itch' ... I'm on the flight home from Orlando and I didn't fish ?. We took a quick in/out before tax season so the boss, err, wife, could visit Mickey. Our resort closed their dock the only morning I had time to fish because of high winds (?!?!?!?!). At the least, I know my Diawa Ardito travel rod is allowed as a carry on. I packed my reel/tackle in my luggage because I couldn't get a straight answer regarding its classification. Oh well, it's almost February, so it won't be long.
  16. I own a Lure 11.5 and have a Lowrance Elite 4-HDI mounted on it. I use a scupper mount for the transducer, running the cable into the hull through a 1 1/8" automotive grommet. The display sits on a rail accessory mount. I had a battery in a small Pelican case with a waterproof disconnect, kept in the front hatch. The battery quit after a year, so now I use a battery from my Milwaukee 12V power tools, which lasts a couple of all-day trips. Hope this helps.
  17. Sure is hard not to. But anything can happen on Super Bowl Sunday... The Pats lost during their undefeated season in '07.
  18. Good to see you back on BR1AN. Try NHFishfinder.com
  19. Ahh, one step closer....
  20. I bought a Sonarphone in '11 or '12. I really like it. Range is always within casting distance and battery life is good. I can say it's durable too: I blew a cast and bounced it off a rock shore one day, crapped myself, but found it to work fine ever since. I don't use it much anymore because the tackle monkey sent his cousin, the kayak monkey, who coerced me into an Ascend 128T and FeelFree Lure 11.5, which I installed Lowrance fish finders on.
  21. It ain't over yet.... Can you say BILL BUCKNER ?
  22. Plano. Most of their boxes are made here in the 'States.
