I've done it on my '99 Tacoma, boss-lady's 4-Runner, and my '07 Tundra. I run them as far as I can unless they get to the wear bars close to winter. Nenita's current Wrangler has 35K on her current set and is no where near replacment and I'm around 60K on my '17 Tundra. I tow my Ranger with this Tundra so I might not get as many miles out of this set. I rotate them about every 5K. We drive mostly highway. Not for nothing, Jeeps are cool. Our daughter drives an '04. Of course Dad put a 2" lift and tires from a JK on it for her for a College graduation present - how she wrapped me into that I don't know .. we paid for her degree ...

My Mother leases ... her lease is up in March '24 ... she has 10K on her car now .. it really IS a Grandmother's car ... BTW - Congrats on the new rig A-Jay ... I've run Michelin AT/2's for 15+ years on my trucks and wife's Wranglers. They're great in the rain and very good in snow. I can get roughly 90K out of a set by rotating them regularly. They've been great for us.

I fish all year as long as there’s open water. I wear thermals, fleece lined jeans, and sometimes neoprene waders as needed when it’s really cold. I also have a Milwaukee heated hoodie. I stick to smaller waters, and ALWAYS wear my PFD. I’m a 20 year Firefighter and had a cold water rescue in November 2019 - COLD water isn’t fun. I’ve also gone off my kayak to save a rod in forty degree water. Cold water is cold water. I always keep a change of clothes in my truck, or in a dry bag in my kayak’s hull. Lastly, always let someone know where you are. If you belong to the Apple ‘club’, share your location.

Fished two ponds on Cape Cod with my Ranger, 4 hours each pond. Threw the kitchen sink. Caught nothing. Marked a few bait balls suspended in 20' at the first pond, hardly marked anything other than perch at the second. Water temps were 56.x in Sandwich, 58.x-59.x in Mashpee. Air pressure was 30. Congratulations to other members catching fish. Don't be disappointed .... you're catching fish.

Gotta go with this, especially with today's boat prices. My tin Ranger is perfect for me. I agree. My Ranger has a few scratches on it. I tried to buy touch up paint for it, but the factory color is only available in quarts ... from Ranger & Cabelas....

... get your backside up to my house with your kayak... we'll cure that. I checked off November with a morning trip to my favorite little Plymouth kettle. Two smallies chomped on a Hot Mustard DT8, one perch played cannibal with a perch V110+1 jr.. A second perch, almost as big as the smallies, pounced on a 4" watermelon/copper/orange Senko. One of my SMB was caught before. It had a worm hook stuck through its tongue almost to the throat. I'm still on track to catch bass in open MA water in every month this year again. Hopefully Mother-Nature will cooperate. Water temps were 58.x. Winds were 5 - 10 mph from the NE and air pressure was 29.9. I noticed the kitchen closes around 10:00/10:30 AM in a lot of the waters I fished the last three weeks or so.

I got down to @Fishing Rhino's home pond on Thursday (solo, Tom hurt his hand & can't fish right now). It was the same story as my last trip: soft baits weren't doing anything and my faithful perch Rapala Shadow Rap was the big winner. Pickerel were the most active, with a few LMB and two nice black crappie made it to the kayak. I went to another pond in Westport after Tom's home pond and the story was the same. I had to force the bite. More pickerel than bass. I got to my home pond in Canton for a couple hours yesterday. Vegetation was still pretty healthy and very abundant. It wasn't until the 8th inning I found a 3.99, 20" Larry on a Seibert Outdoors chatterbait. It was very bluebird-ish both days. Water temps were in the low 60's in Westport and mid 60's in Canton. Air pressure was 30.2 on Thursday and 30 yesterday. Water temps are still a few degrees warmer than this time of year in '22 and '21.

Your season won’t be over if you have family on the Cape. It’s not frozen over there in the last few years. I fish on my boat & kayak year round as long as there’s open water. Blade baits are your friend when the water gets cold.

Got down to my favorite kettle in Plymouth for a couple hours late this afternoon. I couldn’t find any smallies, but the perch were biting. My biggest went 1.3 pounds. Water temps were 62.x

I had a mixed trip on the Cape this week. Tuesday afternoon was my best performance where I fished my favorite kettle in Plymouth, coming up with a bunch of smallies between 1.5 - 2 pounds and a couple of yellow perch that came in around a pound. A perch 3XD was the lure of choice. From Plymouth I went to Harwich, where three yellow perch made it to the kayak and two SMB got the better of me before I could get them in. Wednesday morning went well in Chadham with a baker's dozen mix of LMB and pickerel. Thing is, most were under a pound. I struck out at the second Chadham pond and managed a dink yellow perch and a rainbow trout on a shad 3XD in Brewster (a reportedly great SMB pond I struggle badly at 😡). I fished in Sandwich this morning and couldn't come up with more than a few half pint smallies via wacky Senko and a 3 1l2 pound pickerel on a small Spro deep running jerkbait. I marked most targets in 20'+ but couldn't get anyone else to commit to a lipless or drop shot. I saw a few groups of minnows at the shoreline, but not in giant numbers, at all ponds I fished. Sandwich was the only pond where there were clouds of them suspended in 20-25’. The weather yesterday afternoon & this morning was very bluebird-ish. Air pressure was steady at 29.9 and water temps were 65.x - 67.x.

I got @Fishing Rhino on his home pond again. We didn’t kill it like the last trip, but Tom’s pond never disappoints. It was pretty busy for the first hour and trailed off quickly. I got a mix of everything and Tom got a couple good bass and picks. There’s a pickerel with my favorite Rapala jerkbait stuck in its face … good thing I keep spares of my top lures in the garage. Gonna try for stripers tomorrow afternoon.

I too am on a mild blood thinner. I use Milwaukee tools and bought their heated sweatshirt. It works great between a base layer and outer jacket.

I had a mixed bag on Cape Cod the last few days. Did well on Wednesday, fishing two ponds. Totaled 30+ fish between the two, with a mix of SMB, LMB, yellow perch, white perch, and pickerel. Jerkbaits were the lure of choice. My biggest bass was a smallie just over two pounds. The fish were SHUT OFF Thursday. I fished three ponds (luckily, two of them had HP restrictions but let me run on TM only) from dawn to dusk, throwing the kitchen sink, and couldn't buy a bite - not even from a perch or pickerel. Needless to say it was a TALL pour that night.... Boss lady's calling more later ... It's later ... I fished one pond in Sandwich Friday morning and was rewarded with a 4-6 Larry in short order on a 5" orange/brown Senko. Adding a 1-13 SMB, 14 oz sunny, and decent pickerel to the mix by the time I had to leave. Water temps were 66.x - 67.x. I'm not sure what was going on Thursday, but Wednesday & Friday made up for it.

Drove to my favorite pond in Plymouth Friday morning. Did well. 5 SMB, 4 white perch, and one pickerel. Three smallies were over 2 pounds. Everyone but the pickerel went for a stealth shad Stunna 112+1. I marked bait balls on the bottom in ~ 20' but caught all my fish in 8 ~ 12, except for the pick and one white perch. Surprisingly, one perch was in 3 - 4' of water. All the smallies fought above their weight class. Water temps were 71.x. Winds were light when I launched and about 10 mph when I left. Air pressure was 30.4. Looks like the fall feed is on. I'll be on Cape Cod the 27th to the 29th with my Ranger. Good luck to everyone getting out there.

I got @Fishing Rhino on the water for the first time in two years yesterday. We fished his home pond. We caught 30 - 40 fish between us. We each got 3 or 4 LMB over 3 pounds and a mix of pickerel, yellow perch, white perch, crappie, and one bluegill (for good luck). Tom stuck with soft plastics and I threw a perch Rapala Shadow Rap Shad, 3.8" Keitech/underspin, and a Keitech creature. The jerkbait was the top producer, by far. In fact, I got TWO '2-fers' (two fish simultaneously) on it. The first was a LMB and pickerel and the second was two white perch. A first for me. All in all a great trip. I'm going to try to get Tom out once or twice more before it gets cold. Yep, that's the place....

My wife does the same…. It’s worth it.
