I also wipe mine down after applying it. I've not had a problem yet.

Eastern Ma & New England Area Fishing Reports
I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! I've been down to Hedges a few times over the last week, using only my waders. I've done OK. Smallies on a blade bait and big yellow perch on small jerkbaits and anything else small and shiny. I've not seen any fry in the weeds tight to shore my last two trips. I've also not caught any smallies. I don't have a thermometer, but I'd have to say we've reached late fall/early winter here. I'm going to be in Dennis Port the first full week in December. Depending on the forecast, I might bring my boat and give deep waters a go. Good luck to everyone else getting out. Blade baits (Damiki & Binsky), finesse swimbaits (Keitech 2.8" for me), Rapala jointed crankbaits, and JERKBAITS, JERKBAITS, JERKBAITS. I should fish hair jigs like @Mr. Aquarium, but I never take the time and force myself to fish them until I figure them out. @Saltysmalljaws got me into jerkbaits: long pauses and patience ... they work.

Old People
We have the same here. It’s a great feeling to see my in-laws so happy.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
Happy Thanksgiving to all…

My head almost exploded. I walked into THE HOOKUP TACKLE store.
I looked them up on Google Maps … It’d cost me roughly $1,900 in fuel round trip … I’ll pay the shipping … while trying not to spend a mortgage payment on jerkbaits!

Any helpful tips for boating in winter months?
I fish year round in Massachusetts, as long as there's open water. The membership's offered great advice. I've got two additions: Always let someone know where you are, and keep a change of clothes in your truck.

How late into the season is still “good”?
I'll fish for smallies year round, as long as the ponds don't freeze over. Blade baits are the trick.

Fishing for suckers...
I’ve never chased them. I snagged two at different ponds while crankbaiting for smallies … They pulled like freight trains.

Show your fishing holes!
This is my salty fishing hole. We flew over my neighborhood OTW to Aruba in August. I'm lucky because I can wheel my kayak half a block down and go striper fishing. This is my 'home' fishing hole. 20 minutes from home and not pressured. It holds good LMB & Chain Pickerel I have a favorite SMB hole, but I keep that one quiet.

MH Spinning Rod Question
I use M & MH spinning gear in the winter months or when I know winds will be 15+ mph.

I see you're in Orlando. I'll be down there for MECUM in January. Are there any decent places to fish from shore? Thanks, in advance.

So I'm not the only one that catches shellfish. Cape Cod has big freshwater clams.

I Am A Dog Lover
My brother was allergic to dogs, so we had cats. I still have cats. They follow me around like dogs and come when I whistle. The coolest thing is I can take off for two or three days and all I have to do is leave them a clean litter box, food, and water, and they could care less. Luckily, we dog-sit my nephew's black lab - Irish Setter mix ... he's the coolest meat-ball of a dog you could ask for.

Kistler Rods
Easiest way to find out is call/email Kistler. Someone (maybe Trey) will get back to you. They’re good like that.

Kistler Rods
I’m not quite in your boat, but I own enough. I just bought a 7’ Helium Heavy-Medium-Heavy. It’s exactly what it says… the tip is awesome for twitching frogs and has PLENTY of backbone if need be.

can you look at Blood?
My first time wasn’t bloody. I had a 3 month old infant die in my hands while doing CPR. The Father rolled over on it while sleeping. Yes, it was tough.

can you look at Blood?
Ditto…. I’m a 20+ year Firefighter/EMT in a medium sized city in Massachusetts. This too. The worst is seeing the pain the families experience with OD deaths & scuicides.

Share your rod arsenal
Glenn would get mad of I listed my complete arsenal… It’d use up too much of BR’s storage space.

Kistler Rods
I own 24 Kistlers, spinning and casting, starting with their Magnesium and finishing with a couple current Heliums. They're great rods. Fit/finish, weight, and sensitivity are top notch. I called Kistler to pay an invoice and Trey answered the phone. He was very nice and spent a couple minutes talking to me, answering a couple questions I had about jerkbait rods. I'm very happy doing business with such a company.

Eastern Ma & New England Area Fishing Reports
Took a ride to Hedges early this morning while there was a dry, calm window. Landed eight and lost two smallies, all with a chrome Binsky blade bait. The bass were very active, but would only go for the blade while it was sitting still. I was wading, so no water temps. I'm guessing high 50's. It was overcast and near calm. Air pressure was 29.7.

At What Temperature Do You Stop Fishing?
I don't stop. I ice fish if/when my local waters freeze over. I've been lucky the last couple years because Cape Cod hasn't frozen over.
