  1. I've got a regular blued marlin 60. Fantastic long rifle. Had it for years and thousands of rounds through it. Buddy has the ss version. Nothing but problems from it.
  2. I hate the smell of bug spray, and sunscreen reacts to my skin. So something else is also breaking down the material.
  3. Negative You're the man. Man. @jbsoonerfan @iabass8 The reel im replacing is a curado E7. Any idea if those Curado K would interchange?
  4. Carbon fiber handle with foam grips. Should be quite a bit lighter. Think I might give er a go. https://www.amazon.com/Lixada-Baitcasting-Trolling-Ultralight-Accessory/dp/B07GB2HMKJ/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=baitcaster+handle+replacement&qid=1579820000&sr=8-3
  5. Shimano already contacted me back. Can't buy just the knobs even though they're easily removable. They want $30 for the whole handle. Pppffffffffff! Looks like a new handle it is...
  6. Apologize, just realized I placed this in the wrong forum. Moderator could you please move?
  7. Does anybody remove the anti reverse pawl in shimano reels? I get having the extra security of it, but I can't think of any other reels with it. Reasoning being petty, but the constant clicking while reeling in can be annoying.
  8. I just removed them and took to kitchen sink and scrubbed hard with sponge and dawn. No dice. Just emailed shimano to see if they would send replacements. If no go I'll probably swap the whole handle out as you mentioned @MAN.
  9. Several of my reels, specifically shimano, have the"technical grip" rubber handles. Over the years im assuming mainly from the sun causes these grips to get extremely sticky and quite annoying. My question is, has anyone found a method to get rid of the sticky mess? I've tried simple green, soap water, even acetone with no luck. Thanks
  10. New go to you say. How much use have you guys given them so far? Haven't heard much about kastking, good or bad.
  11. Bait monkey been mean to me lately. New fishing gloves, several spools of line, some parts to fix a reel, 100 pack of yo mommas, $180 worth of jig heads and skirts, a dobyns 745 extreme hp, dobyns 735 fury, and a couple pfg hats. Im sure i missed a few things. That's all in a couple weeks. Think im done for awhile, I think.
  12. Good work. You could still run that drag washer, might feel a bit of jerkiness at times though. I've ran into the same problem with those light blue washers. Id assume it happened from drag cranked down and washer not being properly greased. Too much friction causing heat and break down. Replacing the part was the right move. The carbon drag would be a worthwhile upgrade. However it would be extremely important to maintain the same thickness of everything for it to work properly. Good luck
  13. Yes I periodically placed a drop of tsi 321 Ordered a pair of the bocas today. Haven't used this style yet. We'll see.
  14. I service 10-15 of my own reels, and end up doing around 10-15 of my friends/ family every year. Yes, that is my order of procedure.
  15. Thanks, the hedgehog tool is what I've been using. Problem being is I've used it for the whole process and the little pin breaks on these stubborn pins. Using both would have their advantages, just have to buy both now...ughhh
  16. Has anyone found an actually decent set of spool pin removers? I've broken 2 now and find it quite annoying. Can't do a simple job without a set. Some manufacturers press those pins in so tight one would think they didn't want you to remove it. ???
  17. 12-15 rigs that I spool every year, some 3-4 times a year. If I can make a chore faster, why not?
  18. I took a old coffee can, drilled about 20 screws into it, and attached a piece of all thread to it. I chuck that into my drill, can strip a reel in about 15 seconds. Just take a pair of scissors and cut line of and ready for the next one.
  19. Pants? Why wear em Just wear your favorite pair of skibbys. You'll breath easier, flip further, and just down right catch more fish. Or, be arrested and sent to jail.
  20. Daniel, Dig the paper roll idea.
  21. You must stay in there for long periods of time to keep a can of spam on the counter. Please tell me you don't eat it cold from the can.
  22. Welcome! I tend to not get cabin fever to bad anymore. I stay busy going through all my reels cleaning and greasing. Than I start building baits. Glad to have ya
  23. Haha every nut finds a squirrel eventually
  24. Like to give a big thank you to Mike Siebert, a sponsor of bass resource from Siebert outdoors. Apologize as I think the package arrived several days ago but I've been out of state. Mike hooked me up with some straight up killer looking jigs! I've never got to fish his stuff before, but I cannot wait. The detail and quality is bar none. If you haven't bought from him before I would not hesitate. Thanks again Siebert outdoors!
  25. We won't need to get out of the parking lot! First round bye and home field advantage! GO PACK GO
