  1. Congrats to ike for the sick crowd dive.
  2. Some of my brothers wear them and like them. I've always worn redwings. My last pair, which are slip ons have been my favorite. That being said, I've actually started wearing keens mid tops, and I'll never go back. The amount of comfort these offer is amazing. An I can buy my steel toe leather pair I like for $100. Whole lot cheaper than my redwings ever were.
  3. First time air brushing. So just getting the hang of it. Been fun hitting around with them. Here are a few I just got clear coated.
  4. Im right handed. So I cast with my right and reel with my left. Anyone who switches hands to cast and reel is obviously a psychopath.
  5. Anybody here fish Newton power plant lake? Have a tournament on it this year, it's been quite some time since I've been on it.
  6. Several bottles of Water, possibly a Gatorade, sometimes aa soda for the ride home, and a pot of black coffee. Typically I keep beef jerky, and a cliff bars in my console. But I don't usually much on the boat. Jar of peanuts at times. I like some thing I can snack on as i fish.
  7. Tastes better after a few drinks.
  8. How much is it at your "massage parlor"?
  9. None of the spooks I've bought in there past few years have had this style.
  10. Just bought a group of lures, and these came in it. I know they still make these so not sure of their age. Is there a way to find out? Bought them to fish, but after looking at them wondering if I'd rather just keep them for collection? In input would be helpful. If they're worth anything? Hard to come by? Or just rip some lips! Thanks! They all have the older style hook holders that have screws holding to base of the lure instead of a 0 ring.
  11. I've serviced roughly 50 reels now. Cleaned rods. Spooled reels. Got a warm day last week and went through boat motor and serviced it and cleaned the inside out some. Aired tires, greased bearings. Just need to pick up two new trolling motor batteries before tournaments start. Im.... ready..... to.... start.... fishing!
  12. We're waiting... Hummmmm?
  13. Going to be hard to beat the tried and true pflueger president for $50. I own 6 of them and love them.
  14. Trained thumb, proper lure choices! I skip with various reels. It's just a matter of practicing. One day you'll just get it and won't have problems. Don't even bother skipping If there is a wake.
  15. Came across this commercial watching mlf yesterday. I thought the addition of bill dance was quite comical.
  16. Thanks for the resurrection. Was a very good read and look forward to putting your advice into practice.
  17. Early morning, deep in the mouth of a cove. To the point I was fishing a foot of water. I fire a long shot all the way back with my favorite Zara spook, it was all gnarled up, but it had caught me a ton of fish. Sure enough about my 2nd twitch it manages to snag a full size pallet that was hidden in water. Pull and pull and finally snap my line. Now mad I crank the trolling motor into high and bury my boat in this nasty leaf/ mud bottom. Got the lure and spent the next half hour trying to get my boat back out. Probably wasted a full hour of that tournament. But I still got er.
  18. for stocked trout i fish a mini carolina rig with a tiny treble using berkley trout power bait. Start of the season im often the first one gone cause i have my limit.
  19. I always pay cash. I started out on a 14 ft jon boat and rebuilt it to fit my needs. Front deck, new front motor, ect. Than 8 years later, now making better money I've upgraded to a 21 ft 250hp. I wanted a reliable boat. So I opted for a older boat with a newer engine. 1996 charger with a 2008 250 mercury. She's a tank, and i love it. Figure out your cash price and search and search and search for the right boat. I looked for over 6 months and test drive several boats before I settled on mine. I always try to haggle for a better price. Also you should read Dave Ramsey or watch his pod cast. Following his guide lines allowed my wife and I to be in much better financial peace. We paid off 40,000 in debt last year, while cash flowing her school. With your 130,000 income you guys could do whatever you wanted. Good luck, feel free to message me with any questions.
  20. @delware valley tackle Thank you for your input sir. Its appreciated
  21. Some bearings are sealed and the outside shield cannot be removed. If it is removable it will have a thin retaining clip on the very outside of the shield. I typically use a very fine hook to remove the clip, and a puff of compressed air to push the shield out. If its a stainless steel bearing you should be fine to put into your cleaner to flush the bearing.
  22. Car rear end gear oil? Do you prefer a synthetic oil, or just original? Is this what you'll put on the clutch cam/plate/ and paw? I've noticed on reels a thick oil in those areas, instead of a grease. Which is why i ask. Seems it would be a whole lot easier to clean and apply with a thick oil instead of grease. Not questioning your process, but would this thick oil on the levelwind/wormgear cause more grime buildup vs a thin coat of tsi 321 or such on these pieces being exposed to the elements. Thanks
  23. Yes, sorry you are correct. Believe it's roughly 65 for internet, so we spend 90 a month for our "entertainment"
