  1. Between netflix and now having My outdoor tv, we have everything we need or want for roughly 25 bucks a month.
  2. An I found it! Put me in the group that cut off cable. $120 for 98%of channels I don't watch. No thanks. Today I came across My Outdoor Tv. It's awesome! Tons and tons of fishing, hunting, outdoor shows. Basically the only things I want to watch. It's basically an app you download and it costs like 10 bucks a month. I use it on a amazon fire stick but you can use it on a lot of other platforms. Well worth it to me! Wish I came across it years ago, but glad I did!
  3. So im a bigger guy, roughly 265 lbs of nothing but pure muscle of course. It didn't come easy though, and I'd like to thank Guinness and Budweiser for helping mold this beautiful body of mine. Anyways, this year im looking to invest in a auto inflate PFD for myself. Looking for something that would be comfortable to wear through the day as some tournaments will call for it. Not looking to break the bank, but it is my life so... Appreciate any input, especially from you bigger guys! Thanks!
  4. Cherry cobbler 7 layer taco salad Buffalo chicken dip Guacamole Baked mac n cheese Beer brats Pigs in a blanket 4 lbs of smoked burnt ends Whiskey with a side of beer.
  5. Was the day after Thanksgiving. Remember clearly because while everybody was out black friday shopping, I was the only one on the lake. 2-3 pm, was raining fairly heavily, 45-50 degrees out. Throwing a lucky craft pointer. She went 7lb 2oz
  6. Im currently replacing all my rods for dobyns. They have a good warranty and really enjoy fishing their sticks!
  7. Yes, I use my air compressor to help clean my reels as well. But let me remind anyone that uses air to be very careful, as high pressure air can send your parts sky rocketing to dark crevices of your shop where you will never find them. Trust me I have experience in this department. Just yesterday I was blowing out a bearing and the thing shot out of my hand at mach speed. Never even heard the dang fall or bounce. Fast forward two hours of totally pulling out cabinets, sweeping, and going through all my car parts I had on my big shelf I still hadn't found that stupid bearing. (Really needed to clean that shelf, had so much stuff stacked on it. ) Now claiming defeat, I pull out my schematic to figure out the part number on the bearing to order it, I go to turn up my radio, and eureka! What are the freaking odds. Notice in the background the cabinets and shelf I totally pulled out, cleaned.
  8. Actually came across this last night, and pulled the trigger. Seems quite a few others have been using it on reels and guns. https://www.amazon.com/Liberty-Oil-Synthetic-Lubricating-Fishing/dp/B00BEA7ZA8/ref=mp_s_a_1_13?ie=UTF8&qid=1548337073&sr=8-13&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=reel+oil
  9. Going through all my reels right now, you know, since it's 10 degrees out... Wondering what oil you guys are using on your bearings and worm gear. Was using hot sauce, but felt it was too thin. Found my self reapplying several times through the year. Not to mention the constant red on everything. Been using shimano oil lately, feels better than hot sauce. But nearly out of it, so about to put in a order. Been using penn blue grease. Seems to do pretty well. Maybe a bit dry by the end of the season. Wondering now if I use it too thin though.
  10. Its amazing how strong that company is becoming. Thanks
  11. People actually shop at wal-mart? Poor saps. Hadn't thought about ebay, have to check it out. Thanks
  12. Shipped out a few rods today. My tube was 96" long, 10" girth, weight roughly 5lbs. Was expecting to pay $25-30 to have it shipped. They ring it up and i'm looking at $38 with only $50 dollars insurance. So i remember someone telling me in the past to always have it rung up as 2-day priority mail. (usps) So i asked the clerk if he could do so. An as a shock to the both of us, it brought it down to $14 dollars to ship this giant tube. Add in $300 insurance (ive heard the horry stories) and my out the door price was $18.15. Just a little tip to remember next time you go to ship a rod.
  13. Wondering if anyone has found a good online dealer for bulk line. Mainly interested in mono and flouro. Would like to have have bigger spools to help cut down on line memory, and hoping to cut some costs of buying little spools every time i need to respool. Thanks
  14. This is why I have people meet me at ther ramp. They don't show I go fishing.
  15. As of right now I just fish local club tournaments. So we choose our partners which im sure helps a lot. I tend to stay vocal and will try what the other person has to say as well. I feel the more you work together the better the day will go. The guys I fish with we typically will switch boats each tournament to keep it fair. Don't cast in front of each other. Fish on, buddy helps net. If you're removing a fish or retying other person takes trolling motor. Keep things fair and the day goes smooth. This article is nice because this year I plan on co angling bigger tournaments in hopes of further learning and seeing how others fish. Im a fish to the last minute guy, even if im beating a dead horse. So interesting to see what guys on the boater side say about co anglers.
  16. Use it on all my ultra light set ups. High breaking strength good knots. I love it.
  17. Dang wish someone messaged me, I'd have totally played again. Missed the topic. You guys must have been scared to play me...
  18. Everywhere is different, but our lakes around here are around the 83-85 degree range. The bass have been in silly shallow water. Like 6-18 inches of water shallow. But they have keyed in on grass and timber. Creature baits, and various other soft plastics have been doing well. Spinnerbaits are solid. Shallow cranks at times.
  19. Would be a neat feature. See what boats and gear people use. Not to push the moderating team, as it might be a headache to set up and maintain. But I do think it would be interesting.
  20. When I fish started fishing a ned rig I lost alot of fish at the boat. I found it was the zman jig heads them selfs. I changed up to a 1/8oz jig head with a wide gap hook. Believe it is a 1/0 hook. Made a night and day difference for me.
  21. The unit is under its probation period, which for a replacement unit I would get a reduced price. Which I was totally fine with. Even though it's only 3 years old, and of all things. ...water damage. ..on sonar meant for a boat. ... My problem started with the info I got from customer service. First call I got my options, got the prices. Call back next day, wait on hold for 45 minutes, get guy on phone start talking. Than next thing I know I'm hung up on. Call back and lines are closed, I'm guessing it was quitting time and guy didn't want to deal with another customer. Next call, I made up mind and was going to order the replacement. But now the unit I choose was 500$$ more than what the first guy told me. That ticked me off, so I asked to speak to the manager. Was told I can't talk to him at that time and would get a call from him in 48 hours. Month and a half now with no call. So I found some emails online to try and get someone higher up. It worked. Of course I missed his initial call. And now I'm going on week 4 with no return call from this guy. I've left somewhere between 10-15 voice mails to his direct extension. It's literally been one thing after the next. I'm to the point where I'll never buy or recommend lowrance to anyone. Never been anything I couldn't fix, that I wanted to! Don't temp me, I can be a stubborn, determined guy. But really, just trying to get some clarity before anything.
  22. Curious if any others have ran into lowrances awful customer service. Did you get through to them? Problem resolved? Who did you talk too? I'm running 2 units linked together and a motorguide i5. Hds10 and hds 5. Hds 10 has water damage and is now a blank screen. Going on 2 months dealing with them and I'm not any further than day one. Just getting fed up.
  23. Dont get me started on lowrance customer service ive had lately.
